very nice, but why a d70s and the d50?
I do photography work... I cover events for my city and such, so having a backup body is a must. Plus, I have a wide array of Nikkor glass, so when I go to an event to shoot, I can have a 70-300mm on one body and a 50mm prime on the other and not worry about having to switch lenses on location.

Between the D50 and D40, I like the D50 better for a number of reasons, in part that its so similar to my beloved D70s. And, I have some older lenses that wouldn't work on a D40.

I would've loved to snatch a used D200, but at this time I don't have the funds to justify that purchase. Hopefully by the end of next summer, I'll have a D200 or used D2Hs...

Anybody that has experience of using an on-screen keyboard for prolonged text input will agree with me that it is a terrible compromise. One of the greatest arguments against the iPhone it it's poor text input solution, especially for the input of symbols.

So plug an external keyboard into the USB slot if you want to sit and type. And a mouse too if you want or need to. Just like any other Macbook.

If a keyboard and typing is your main prerequisite for portable Mac, then you already have a plethora of white, black, silver, fat and thin ones from Apple of varying screen sizes and glossiness to choose from.

A tablet Mac is for those who want mobile pen screen input with Wacom multi-sensitivity levels. A keyboard is far down the bottom of list of wants/needs priorities, and one can be plugged in anyway if necessary.

Preordered a macbook air.... I've been waiting for something small and easily throwable... I had the basic configuration with my student discount. I figure, i've never really edited on a laptop might as well be a nice one...

PS. I used to have a 12" g4

I was making the point that tablet laptops from other manufacturers, which are no larger (in fact most are smaller), sport both a touchscreen & a proper keyboard, which makes them phenomenally more functional. Yes the main input incentive for a tablet-buyer will be pen/touch, however having a keyboard & traditional pointing device there for the odd times you want to them is incredibly useful.
