The G4 Cube was introduced in 2000 and was produced for one year...

The Mac mini was introduced in 2005, but it had dimensions of 2.0" x 6.5" x 6.5" (H x W x D); it was not until 2010 that the dimensions changed to what we have now, 1.4" x 7.7" x 7.7" (H x W x D)...

Lol love the signature from ‘hackers’. I cannot recall if ‘risc is good’ was actually about risc or risk, now I have to watch this movie again on Tubi.

Update: yes “RISC Is Goood” by Crash Overlord talking about Acid Burn (Jolie’s character) about the P6 chip in her laptop. Never new risc chips where in laptops in the 80’s. Btw Crash & Burn from this movie not Top Gun.

This my dual “monitor” setup for my Mac Mini. It’s the base i5 from 2018 with a 32GB OWC RAM upgrade.
1 iPad is using LunaDisplay and the other is Sidecar.
Hi I’m designing a case that fits 2 ipads to work with the mac mini on the go. Do you have any issues using 2 ipads with the macmini via luna display and sidecar? I have been trying out duet display + sidecar but the performance is very lackluster so I wonder if it will be better with luna display

Don't mind the mess 😆. I recently bought a 2018 Mac mini and mounted it to my wall. Also bought a couple PC fans to cool down my 4 WD External drives. There's a networking hub mounted on the wall behind the drives, too. The fans contribute to keeping the mini cooler as well, just by forcing the air around there. I'm going to be moving my desk to another room at some point and will have everything cleaned up. This setup was just put in in place of another..

I keep my TimeMachine drives connected to it along with an eLicenser USB stick. I wish the Superdrive worked with it, but I get errors saying it needs to be plugged in directly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm excited to clean it all up. Being able to mount the mini on the wall has changed the way I've though about how my desk should be setup. I might try and hook up one of those shelf things to the back of my Monitor to keep the Aukey hub out of the way, but it's handy when I need to plug something in quickly. I've actually got 7 External Drives in total connected to this mini.. This thing is great.

I hope you know, that with that Superdrive on top of your WD drives you are blocking the airflow (ventilation openings)...

That's not really a wise thing to do.

I know. It doesn’t stay there. It’s just there for the picture really. Same with the hub. As I initially posted, I’ll be moving everything into a different room and plan on organizing all of the drives better. But TBH, with the two PC fans blowing underneath, I’m not worried at all about ventilation.

Current setup is M1 Mini 16/512GB and I5 Mini 64/512GB. M1 has Saitechi hub with no SSD installed yet.

Under the desk is a Windows 10 Pro box with AMD Ryzen 5600X, 32/512GB with AMD Radeon RX6600 XT Graphics.

Monitors are LG and HP Omen 32" QHD monitors, Windows box is hooked up to both for dual monitor setup.

Looks busy with 3 keyboards and mice - but Windows is only used for learning GIS when Macʻs are not in use.

The miniʻs use Universal Control - so only one set of keyboard and mouse is needed to use both minis.

iPad Pro 11" M1 on the right and on network is a Synology DS920+ NAS with 10TB, for TM and everything else.

You mean it is not common to have a Reverse Polish Notation calculator :)

I recall the great debate in the mid-late 70s whether students in high school should be able to use calculators. In chemistry, the instructor said yes if they share with other students. This was good until the instructor realized some calculators would store equations or answers that got passed around. At that time, the calculator to have would be a Texas Instruments model.

Of all my calculator smiles - the best was when I bought a cheap but "powerful" calculator during college days. It came with terrible instructions that were the worst translation possible - imagine my surprise when I learned the calculator could handle "Avocado's Law" equations variables.
