^ hackintosh?

Yup :p

whats the thing with the grass and mario mushroom? also, hackintosh?

The grass thing is a cable tidy, I bought it from here:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/travelpower/bf38/

The mushroom is the tin from some official Nintendo Candy, you can find it online, they come in Red Blue and Green (Something, Cherry and Apple?)

Hmmm... what didn't make it clear that it was a hackintosh?

Was it the glorious black plastic case that was clearly designed by Apple? Or was it the 4 Ghz i7 processor that Apple definitely sells? 0.o

I mean really. haha.

LOL, nice one :)

The case is metal btw ;)

Here's my room

iTerm (Terminal): Terminal
Snow Leopard HD: Apple Rainbow Icon
Time Machine: Time Machine
Windows 7: Windows Icon

Oh and I have the drawers on my 2 stacks :)

Adium preferences are HERE

Thank you for sharing everything. How did you change your FINDER icon in the dock? I tried replacing it in /System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app but that does not seem to change anything even after the "killall Dock" command or a restart.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hey Mendry,

I am loving the MK2's, the bass is probably the best part of these monitors. Very clear, with a good frequency response! The trebles are also really nice and bright. The only thing thats slightly 'muddy' is the mids, but thats probably just because i'm used to mixing on the £900 Genelec monitors in uni, lol!

Overall I'd highly recommend the MK2, they've been a great pair of active studio monitors. I've had them about two years, and been lugging them around from uni to home, even to some gigs and there's not been one fault with them!

You can also pick them up pretty cheap now, think they're around £150 at the moment!

My setup

Im 15, from England, and this is my setup in my bedroom.

DSCF0109.jpg

My old MacBook died, the one in my signature, so i bought a new 2.13GHz, 2gb RAM, 160gb HDD MacBook the day before the new unibody MacBooks came out, thank god!

I also have a 19" HP matte display that came with the downstairs PC which is now a hackintosh which is connected to the 40" LCD TV in the living room.

I also bought a IR remote that i use a lot and a 16GB iPhone 3Gs in Black

As you can see below, i also have a 32" HD LCD TV in my bedroom to connect my MacBook to when watching films on my bed - this is where the remote gets most of its use.

DSCF0110.jpg

I love my setup and it has all been purchased within the last 2 weeks, apart from the 32" TV that ive had for about 6 months. Now all i need is a Bluetooth keyboard and Magic Mouse:rolleyes:

Been looking through this thread for a long time, some really awesome setups you guys have going on! I thought it was about time to post my setup, I am a second year BSc Music & Audio Technology student.

…

My Uni Setup consists of...

15" MBP (See Sig for details)
External 19" Wide Screen Value Monitor
Alesis M1 Active MK2 (Audio Monitors)
iPhone 3GS Black 32GB
Maxtor 500GB External FW
Razer Diamondback 3G
Edirol UA-25EX Soundcard
Behringer Xenyx1204FX Mixer

I'm very happy with my setup, and it works just fine for me! The only thing i'd like to improve on is the keyboard and mouse, with wireless versions and possibly the new magic mouse.

nice setup!

did you know that you can make the external display primary in Display preferences? that way you can have the Dock and Menu Bar on the big screen and put the MBP to the side... unless you like having your MBP in front.

Nice to finally see a setup with some decent speakers. Way too many Bose owners in this thread. :p

Until I finish remodeling our attic, this is my setup. Right now it's in our multi-purpose room. The only reason I have those speakers is because I got them for free from a guy at Cornerstone Festival 2009. They're pretty good for being free.

I get a nice blue question mark for you setup. I'm thinking you did not host your picture some place.

Wow, first of all-- TIMG.

Second, how are those speakers? I was thinking of getting a set to play my iPod through at work since they are on-the-cheap and look semi-cool. I work in a stock room and it gets VERY boring back there all day. TO QUIET.

EDIT: Oh, I guess you already answered my question. Couldn't see your post around your huge img. ;D Are they 30$ "good"? haha.

Those are some interesting looking speakers. Oh and if they work, definitely pretty good considering they were free :p

Its still blowing my mind with its screen size and quality, but its not enjoying waking from sleep, by this I mean sometimes the screen does not come on but the rest of the mac has woken.

My old MBP was doing that. The Mac Genius couldn't diagnose it, but at the last second, decided to "reset the display" and that fixed it! I don't know what exactly he did. Perhaps he reset the PRAM, but I thought I had tried that, myself. I usually do, anyway.

I found them at my local Walmart the other day for $25. They are descent. They match my MacBook Pro almost perfectly. Music sounds pretty descent through them. They would suit your needs pretty well.

Hey, Thanks for your advice! I did know that already but i've been playing around with the setup, and that external monitor really is 'Value' the MBP display is much much better, so i prefer to use that as my main display. The second monitor is mainly used when mixing tracks in pro tools etc for filters and stuff.

Nice to finally see a setup with some decent speakers. Way too many Bose owners in this thread. :p

Hey Cheers! I went for function over form! They are quite big, but they do sound nice! Honestly they are the best purchase i ever made i think (aside from my MBP obviously!) Can highly recommend them, but a good set of isolation pads is a must!

Or you could use LiteIcon, which is free.

droodles,

Do you play COD 4 on your system by chance? I'm thinking of buying the 2.26 MacBook Pro and want to be positive it's runs the game smoothly. If not, I may go up to the 2.53
