what dell monitors are those?

They are Dell 2209WA IPS monitors. I got them from the Dell online outlet store for $199 each which is a great price for IPS displays.

The 2209WA go in and out of stock so it's a matter to timing with the Dell outlet.

Nice setup, are you running a home made Hackintosh or is that a Psystar one? It kind of look like the cases that they had when they where around.

It's a Hackintosh but I used the same case Psystar uses - Antec P183. It's more case than I'll ever need. You pay a premium for the case but it's really quite. I can barely tell the computer is on and the computer is about a foot away from me at ear level.

I wish I had more cash to spend on photo equipment. :(

Maybe some day...

Good luck. Photo equipment is an addiction. I purposely have not done the math on total costs since I'm better off not knowing.

My only advice is that lens hold their value better than cameras. All of my bodies are used while the lenses were purchased new. Lenses are not an investment but the retail and subsequently the used prices go up every year. My 85mm 1.4 is now worth more used than what I paid new a couple of years ago.

i always buy my lenses used and my bodies as well, if I can. In my experience, lenses hold 65-75% of their original retail. I picked up a 17-40L for $600.

I used to have an Aeron at work and the Embody is much more comfortable. Is the Embody worth the upgrade? For me, yes but not for anywhere near full price. At full price I'd get an Aeron. You will have to try it out to see if it is right for you.

Interesting. I suspect the Embody is worth the full price to me for the upgrade--I love my Aeron but it the seat pan is not quite right for me.

This is a bad picture but it's my future ex-wife, Danica Patrick. My GF made me turn Danica around because she was weirded out since she could see the cutout from my bed. I live in a loft so the only thing separating the bedroom and living room is a railing.

Reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Peter gets a Kathy Ireland cardboard cutout. :D

I know. :(

I recently became more interested in photography, and I just keep buying things. First it was the camera (obviously), then I said, "I want a Macro lens!" and then, "I want a flash!" and then "I want a remote control release!" and then "I want a Pelican case" and then "I want a secondary camera!" ...and it keeps going...I'm already eyeing a much more expensive camera. :)

@7On: How do you like your old ACD? I'm thinking of getting two of the old 23" (1920x1200) model since they are quite cheap around here.

it's going to suck when MacRumors members from the US start posting setup pics with the iPad sitting on their desk. Just release the price and launch date in Canada already Apple.

Here is my updated setup. I finally replaced the most of the old monitors I was using. I built a cheap server running Windows Server 2008. I'm using it as a web server, NAS, and I have a Blu Ray drive in it now so I am also ripping Blu Ray discs with it. I wish I knew what settings to use in handbrake for those rips. Anyways the Mac Pro's specs are in my sig and the server is just a dual core i3 2.93 with a gig of ram and two hard drives. (I hope to add more space later) Sorry for the crappy pics I took them with my iphone.

The first monitor is a Dell (as is the last)... I would therefore assume the middle one is aswell-- but can't be sure.

I had a 20" Dell monitor with the same styling as the one this user has (theirs looks to be a larger model, but from the same line). It was a good monitor. Only got rid of it because my father's monitor died and I gave him mine.
