As the username describes it, I only use APPLE products! Also I run a couple of Apple TV's. I do think all of these routers make my network signal stronger around the house. Hope Apple will come out with the rumored 46" plus LED network subscription TV down the road. Need a strong network to power all that streaming....

Your trolling right?

I find it quite amusing how many people are putting $3000-$4000 worth of equipment on a $20 desk from walmart.

I find it amusing that some people think that the breaking strenght of their desk is somehow related to the price. My cheapest desk was just 4 wooden legs and a piece of plywood. Used it for nearly a decade without any problems - and at that time it had two 20" CRT's on it.
Often enough with things that look good (& are expensive): They're just not practicle.

So if you like it and your system doesn't brake it: go for it.

why? a desk is a desk. id find it more amusing when the desk costs more than the whole setup.

And a computer is a computer; yet many who are enchanted by the aestheticism of Apple's products seem to be OK with utalitarian furniture. But even that's not the problem it's a question of not being able to set up a useable and durable workspace...

Well, here's my setup....

Is it me or is this thousands of dollars worth of equipment on a ~$20 desk from Wal-Mart (or Ikea)?

I guess one might say that it's really no one else's business what people choose to put $3000 - $4000 worth of computer junk on so long as they're happy with the way it looks and the stability. /shrug

Right! All my stuff is on an IKEA desk. So what? A desk is as a desk does.

EDIT: Also... I'm not a desk enthusiast. I'm a computer enthusiast. I spend my money on my computers and not my furniture. If I was interested in desks I'd be on DeskRumors catching the latest!

Calm down folks, I was only being sardonic as I am guilty of the same thing myself. Anyhow, to clarify, I was not talking about cheap desks more than I was talking about flimsy desks (for instance the guy in this thread or another one whose desk was bowing under the weight of his 27" imac).

The Yamaha HS50M come with an integrated amplifier. So all you need is an adapter cable from your 1/8" to 1/4" Jack. I highly recommend a nice audiointerface though. Otherwise the potential of those Speakers is pretty much wasted.

Can you recommend a nice interface? I currently use a Tascam US-122 for recording. I'm assuming that will work? Or perhaps an Mbox 2 Pro that I'm thinking about upgrading to?

Yes true but would it be better to seperate the routers a little more, in say different rooms that way your signal will be more spread out?

Nice setup I also someday hope for a nice real Apple Televison

This used to be the case for me in the pre-Macbook era. I used to have a partners desk, similar to this one, which had only my £1,500 Powerbook on it and a few pens. I sold the desk for £7,800 to an antique's dealer. No idea how much they sold it on for, but I'd say probably around £10,000.

To each their own. I can kind of understand what the poster was saying. I just got my 27" i7, and I am really not happy with the desk I have now (which was actually a $200 desk). The desk really takes away from how awesome the machine is (see below). I just put the iMac on the wall, and Im going to be looking for something a little more stylish. But still, its really whatever makes you happy, and whats convenient for you, price wise.

*It looks slanted, but I assure you it isnt. Its just the way I took the picture. I measured, and measured, and measured before I started drilling, and when I placed the iMac on the wall, it was perfectly centered.

Is the new apple keyboard compatible with windows ?
or did you just install windows on your mac?

I don't have windows on my mac. The keyboard works fine with Windows 7 but a lot of windows functionality is lost because of the fewer number of keys on the apple keyboard. I use a kvm switch (Belkin's FLIP DVI) to share the apple monitor with the macbook pro.

But I usually have the monitor connected to the macbook. The windows desktop is only being used as a media server at this point.
