I saw the glossy MacBook Pro side by side with the non-glossy version (switched on, both LED) at my local Apple Store.

I do not know why they arranged both Notebooks exactly they way that the disadvantages of glossy displays were immediately noticeable, but I guess they sell remarkably more non-glossy MacBook Pros than stores that placed their illumination more thoughtful. Or maybe they want to trick more customers to buy a anti-glare 15" than the cheaper 13"?

By the way, more interesting would be a photo from the right side :p

Edit But it's your monitor and your eyes ;) As long as I'm still able to buy non-glossy displays...

Sweet, another Apple & Audi person. I was THIS CLOSE *holds thumb and forefinger extremely close together* to buying myself an A6, but I ended up with my dad's '99 Corolla instead, when he upgraded to a Prius. .

Upgraded to a Prius?

ROFL.

Priuses are THE worst cars ever, gutless, thirsty, AND ***** for the enviroment.

Damn thats clean. Every time I see a setup this clean I change my mind about ordering a new matte screen. That black bezel just completes everything ha.

I know! I won't be ordering my next MacBook Pro for another 14-15 months, but I'm really on the fence about glossy. I absolutely abhor the glare, but at the same time, I love the look, particularly how well it complements the keyboard. If they made a MacBook Pro with a black bezel and matte display, I'd be all over it in an instant. An iMac/ACD isn't so bad IMHO, because it's set up once, the lighting's adjusted once, and you're good to go. With a laptop, the lighting changes all the time, and you're often in situations where you cannot control the lighting. And that, for me, would be horrible.

I'll admit, I was mesmerized when I first took the Prius for a test drive in EV mode. I loved the quietness, the smoothness, the noise of the motor as it throttled up and the noise of the regen brakes as the car slowed to a stop. And this was just after having driven the Insight, which I found to be particularly unremarkable. So it wasn't like it was my first time driving a hybrid either. But now, I hate going places in that car. The engine's rough, it's loud at highway speeds, you need to put your foot down to get it to move... at least the dashboard is pretty cool. I much prefer my Corolla-- a 5-speed coupled to a peppy i-4 is the way to go for spirited driving IMHO.

However, thirsty... I would argue that. My dad regularly gets 50MPG in that car, no matter how he drives it. $20 for 400 miles is pretty nice.

My thoughts exactly. Although I dont think that a matte would look as good with the black bezel. The reason the black looks so good is because it is shiny due to the glass over it. The silver bezel is perfect for the matte screen.
