I dedicated my HP 2159m 21.5" display to my PS3 Slim and purchased a 24" Samsung P2450 for my main setup :)
HDMI works great. I see no difference between my Sony Bravia and the HP display, except that one is matte and the other glossy.

Sound isolation foam pads.

Sorry but I'm going to have to be the acoustics police for just one moment

They're sound absorbers, not isolation. Sound 'isolation' (stopping the sound from leaving the room) is very, very, very expensive and very complicated.

Sound absorbers are to reduce acoustic reflections in the room. I'm about to put some up in my room...

New York, Baby!
Here's my setup at the moment....

I moved the Acer H223HQ that I got for my PS3 to the desk - mainly for the Tehprivates Football Draft, but it is making me want to buy another H223HQ and have 3960*1080 of beautiful resolution.

Love this.

I've got the new Mini as well. I REALLY want an Apple display, but just cannot justify spending more on the monitor than I did the computer (well, after the RAM upgrade the computer may have been slightly more).

I have one of the HP's that mock the Apple display design, so I guess that's as close as i'm gonna get.

Thank you! You could always go the refurbished ACD route like I did, definetely worth the $599 price! :)

I really like the look of your setup!

Thank you! Just need to work on cord management now.

Where can I get some similar stuff for cheap? There's too many hard surfaces in my room, so recording is a nightmare.

Not sure in your part of the world. Decent stuff costs decent money - have a look at Primacoustics - they make great acoustic treatment stuff. So do Gik Acoustics.

I've just managed to get hold of looooads of off-cuts of foam from a furniture manufacturer, but this only has a limited effect on the sound - it only absorbs down to about 1.3 KHz even at double thickness...

how do you think that logitech keyboard performs? and whats the silver box next to the multiprinter machine :)?

This logitech keyboard is AMAZING. By far my favorite of theirs ever. All of the thinness of the dinovo edge but with a number pad.

Sadly Logitech doesn't make these anymore but you can snatch them on Amazon for about $40. I liked it so much I bought two more as backups whenever I wear the keys out on mine. (It doesn't take me long to ever wear keys out since I type all day long lol).

The silver box is this guy right here:

External raid enclosure. Its excellent. I highly recommend it. I already had the drives so I just ordered the case. 8TBs of space.

2 quick questions.

what speakers are those? and what is the device on the bottom left?
M-Audio Deluxe BX5a monitors and the device is an APC UPS.
That's pretty hardcore
Thanks! I still have to connect my MBOX2 Mini and keyboard :D:D

If I was still doing design or photography professionally, i'd buy one in an instant.

But for me to edit a few photos here and there and browse the web and whatnot, it just doesn't make sense.

I just finished painting my room. It's light gray with dark gray stripes. I still have a few things to finish up, like fixing the few visible cables.
Let me know what you guys think! I want any and all suggestions to make my setup better! I don't like my desk that much, but it's new-ish and I have to keep it.

-MacBook Pro 15" Core i5 2.4GHz, iPod Touch 16GB 1G, Droid X, BlackBerry 8330, Asus 22" 1080p monitor, Dell 2.1 speakers , wireless keyboard (just bought it yesterday), wireless Logitech mouse (until I buy the new trackpad), amazing, free Eminem mouse pad, HP Mini 210, HP printer.

Lol 8TB is just one of my enclosures. I will be putting 8TB in my desktop when it comes too.

I do a lot of hobbyist game development (programming and graphics), photography, 3D modeling (Maya and ZBrush), digital painting, digital music, etc. Basically everything that takes up a ton of space. Photography and 3D modeling take up most of the space. I also convert all of my DVDs to mp4 files because they always go missing, or get scratched, etc. I also keep two backups (one offsite) of all my stuff so I have around 26TB total of drive space I use.

I also am a student (online) and some of my project files for class reach into the astronomical proportions as far as size goes since I like my stuff to look nice and refuse to skimp on special effects for the sake of file size.
