Do you have a link for that wallpaper?

That looks incredible

Thats really good you should be proud. I'm truly amazed by it

Thanks man. I actually had one guy offer me 500 just for the case and said he would give me an unpainted G4 case also to put the loose parts in. I turned him down. :)

the whole family

nothing new to setup. just an iphone 3gs (next to 3rd gen ipod) i got in march because i lost my iphone 2g, which ruins my chance, I think, of grabbing the upcoming iphone 4 at a subsidize price... otherwise... same old same old... i could get a larger desk but need a larger room to do so...

Let's see... 10" display... keyboard... mouse... probably about 2.5 lbs total... it seems to me that what you really want is a netbook ;)

I was thinking the same thing. Pretty much defeats the whole purpose of the ipad.

The fan to the right is totally necessary even in Winter. Sitting near this thing is like sitting next to a radiator! :p

Getting a new email is noisy. :p

Actually no.

Like the others said. This is an iPad before anything else. I can carry the iPad itself anywhere and use it whenever I feel like it to read or play games (on the bed, on the plane etc). But not only can I do that, I can pair it with a keyboard and a mouse when I feel like some word processing or to get some work done. So it doesn't defeat the purpose of the iPad...it actually just adds more options ;). For travel it is nice..when I want to read on the go, use the ipad, when I want to do some work, break out the keyboard. Not bad.

Nope. Already have one. But this baby is no where near as convenient to use in all situations. Find it odd and distracting to whip out a netbook during meetings. When I need to get away from the desk and do some reading on the couch to spend time with my boyfriend while he watches sports...I would take this before my netbook any day (and it's so low key it doesn't bother him). So the iPad is really nice, and adding the peripherals make it even nicer! As for computing..the experience is pretty nice! The iOS has it's limitations obviously, but people without iPads would be surprised at what this baby can do (i.e. pair a mouse and keyboard ;))

Anyways, I won't justify my set up any further. It is a sweet little set up and works pretty well, and I love it. ;)

After looking at this forum section for over a year i tought i would share my setup :

Great setup!

Based on the contents of your desk I would think you would have chosen a desktop. You look like you're pretty serious into audio and a Mac Pro would be way more expandable and powerful. About the same price maybe also..

Seriously though, amazing setup.

You don't have to justify anything to anyone! This world is full of morons that just like to spew stupid sh** out of their mouths just to show that they have an opinion. It's a sad way of making themselves feel more relevant; eventhough, they really aren't.

And on top of that your setup makes perfect sense and is completley functional. You've created more ways to use it.

Sorry... Don't know why this pissed me off so much. It's just typical of about 80% of the population, and it drives me crazy!

It pisses me off, too, because when people come to such a conclusion, they do so by thinking "Oh, you're using a device with a peripheral that another device already has, so I'm now assuming that you always use the former device with that peripheral, therefore what you really need is the second device, despite any advantages the former device might have over the latter when the peripheral is not in use." It's like saying using a laptop while it's plugged in to a power outlet means you might as well have bought a desktop.

Perfectly said! You give me hope for humanity with that little paragraph. lol

Hopefully those people will get weeded out by natural selection over time. haha

^ Haha thanks guys, but it doesn't bother me much. People don't know until they have actually experienced it, so meh!

Paulisme...very well said. I have a macbook pro that stays at my desk. Perhaps I should have gotten an iMac :D

Just put this together the other day: 13" MBP, 27" Vizio LCD TV, Samsung BD Player

Poor quality I know, meh lighting in the bedroom.

Bonus points to who can tell me whats playing in iTunes :)

Not necessarily. A MacBook or MacBook Pro would suffice.
USB connections of both the Akai drum-pad/midi interface and the other on the far left would connect directly to the MBP/MB. Then the USB keyboard would connect into either for better control. you can use USB/FW400/800 connection to any external audio boards.

Again there is NO NEED to have a MacPro for Audio production anymore; unless you're using Logic Pro with need for a full band playing live with on the fly adjustments.
