Post Your Mac Setup: Past & Present (Part 12)

I'm 15 & I've been a Mac for the past 3 years. I'm a proud owner of a 17" Discrete MacBook Pro, which I use as my main machine. I'll update in a few weeks since I'll be switching rooms and buying MUCH better furniture. IKEA anyone...? 
I also own an iPad (which is always dead) and an iPhone 4. This pic was taken with an iPhone 3G since it's a few months old; but my same setup nevertheless.
BTW The iMac you see on the veeery right has been sold to my brother. And Yes, the MacBook Pro is being propped-up by some crappy Acer notebook that i used in 6th/7th grade before I got my MacBook.

At the moment i'm 17 & still expanding my setup These are my two latest shots of the setup. With the room as a whole & then a close shot of the Media desk area. I'm planning to get a 32GB wifi iPad & Dock etc as well in the coming weeks & perhaps a PM G5 for the Apple display and move the Quicksilver elsewhere, we'll see

lover. Therefore, he has so many apple stuff.I'd say, keep it up.
Maybe they just repair and keep their Apple products if they break rather than throwing them away, or they just love them too much to let them go

I am an Apple fan so thats why I have a setup like I do . But i have Macs because i like them & they work much better for the things I do over a PC I do alot of photography & video editing work.http://flickr.com/macmad

LOL I use the bed area next to where the camera was to watch TV I dont sit in my chair, I control my Mac mini with my iPhone 3G & yes you are gonna get cables LOL with the amount of equipment I Have it cant be helped that
When I was 17 I had about 10 computers, not counting the other stuff in the house, and maybe 4 of them were actually used more than once a month. Why did I have so many? Because I could, and it seemed whenever someone had an old piece of junk they'd come and say "here, have this!"

I like his collection, especially the eMac - I kinda want to go grab one of those for no particularly explainable reason.. OS 9 maybe? I dunno. I wouldn't dump money into a G5 man, they're nice sexy machines but the power supplies have a habit of randomly crapping out and you do NOT want to buy a used liquid cooled one. Baaaaaddd!!!
I guess it's one of those things - if I came across a really really good deal (like a goodwill find or a craigslist offer for ~$200 for a dual g5), I'd jump on it. Anything more just aint worth it, however you'll really enjoy the quiet compared to the G4s.
Also: You need an MDD to add to that collection! Good job on the QS and graphite there.

Don't be offended but our cultures are really different. I am brazilian, you are american. Americans are a consumist society, brazilians WERENT.
Why "weren't" ?
Because about 5 years ago the brazilians are becoming very consumist. People who live in a poor house, have no car, but spend thousands of dollars (although we use reais, not dollars - just to compare) with Blackberrys, Apple computers and electronic stuff.
I consider that (the new brazilian culture) a threat to the environment. This is one of the reasons that the whole world is looking forward to make business with Brazil. Its a new generation. Its a shame, in my opinion. People, HERE, are forgeting HOW TO LIVE. They want to HAVE, not to BE.q

I forgot to say: I will post my setup soon! I just bought a new table. These things here in Brazil are really expensive. Just to compare: the JONAS, from IKEA, costs about 55 dollars, right?
In Brazil, that thing costs about 300 dollars.
So, on monday, I bought the wood and the feet and made myself a table with the same collor as JONAS from IKEA! Will post it soon
macnerd93 is from the UK though. Not that it makes a difference as stuff is A LOT cheaper there than it is here, and I agree with you burleke, that people here waste too much money on things they don't need. I mean, I know people who do not even have a decent house, but own a latest model car.

I sell somethings on Mercado Livre. Things I dont need anymore. I have to say that I am a minimalist: I have only what I need, although I am not poor (I dont live in favela...).
Sometimes people buy my old stuff such as ultra-advanced universal remote control, luxurious watches (Bulova) and they dont even know how to write an email or what is "Email"! Its a sad fact that here, in Brazil, people are leaving their culture to have a culture that its not even brazilian: the culture of consumerism, of buying a lot of things they dont need. To be something that they are not.
I lived in Rio de Janeiro for 8 months this year. People who live in favelas have laptop, desktop, digital cameras, ipods, expensive clothes etc. But they still live in favelas, don't pay the energy bill, eat only rice, potatoes and beans somedays. I mean... this is not Brazil. At least didnt use to be. I think brazilian people are adopting the american culture of HAVING stuff and abandoning the culture that Brazil has a lot. Or had...
This is one the reasons we have so many people stealing, so many thieves: to buy things they dont need because they feel they are excluded from the society just because they dont have the "last ipod" like their neighboor has.

what can i do to improve it? any good idea?
i want to use the monitor as primary but i watch mainly hd movies on it and browse and stuff on the mbp.
when i use the monitor as primary and start doing something on the mbp, the dock appear when full screen movies on the monitor.
or should i leave like that, the monitor on the wall is good when watching movies.
i don't want to start a new topic.
