Updated setup

Excuse the poor quality iPhone pictures

- 2008 24 inch iMac, 2.8 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB Ram, 320 GB Hard Drive
- Apple Wireless Keyboard w/ keyboard protector
- Apple Wireless Magic Mouse
-White iPhone 3GS (Not pictured, used to take photos)

New additions:
- 2011 13.3 inch Macbook Air, 1.86 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB Ram, 128 GB SSD
- HP Photosmart Wireless Printer (Free with Air)

Also received a free iPod Touch with the Air but gave it away to family as I have an iPhone

Need to put something on the wall but otherwise it works perfectly for uni. Take notes at uni with the Air and come home and carry on a bigger screen :)

Holy heck man! Get some zip-ties! Or those velcro ones you can reuse! Tame that cable nest before it takes over your working space!:p

Nice screen addition master00. Always admired your setup. If I had a tower I would so pic up one of those trays for it.

Thanks. Yes, I got a Samsung S27A550H 27" LED (ultra thin).

Nice setup. What keyboard/mouse is that?

The mouse is a Logitech MX and the keyboard is a Logitech K800 (Wireless, backlit).

I use a program called Synergy to control both computers with the same mouse and keyboard. You scroll your mouse to the left of the screen and you seamlessly get control of a separate machine. I highly recommend it for anyone running multiple machines.

how'd you do the wallpaper clock on your iMac? very nice i want :) Nice sticker btw

I guess it's done with Geektool.

Time and date can be added like this:

Time:

"date +"%I:%M %p" (which results in 11:30 pm)

If you want a 24 hour clock (e.g. 03:00 a.m.) then replace %I with %H. If you want to add seconds there, add %S to the mix. Remember to change the refresh rate to every 1 second if you’re adding seconds.

Date:

"date +"%A %d %b" (which results in Monday 12 June)

Ok thanks for the info. Regarding that keyboard, do you find it a hassle that the Mac keys are not there? Such as the function keys up top and the command button?

Nice setup, and does the Logitech mouse work well on glass?

Yes, it's actually very good on glass and was designed for it. I need an accurate mouse for what I do and even on the glass it's usually sufficient. Though this really comes down to how opaque your glass is.

At first it's awkward but you grow accustomed to it. You can always change the functions of the keys. Logitech no longer offers Mac edition keyboards but I still use them because they are quality products with good warranty.

I highly dislike the accessories that Apple offers. Apple likes to put design ahead of productivity and functionality. Their mouse is simply a show piece, you can't get any real work done with that thing.

where did you get those trays for your mac pros ??

The wood one came with my desk. The acrylic one I bought ages ago from MacMice. I doubt you can get them anymore.

i disagree. i love the mouse. and ive done countless websites, and graphics with it.

You must have never touched a Logitech MX. I guarantee you it will run circles around your Apple mouse.

People get so devoted to Mac is makes me sick. Even if it's a crappy product there's gonna be people out there that love it for what is symbolizes and not what it can actually do.
