thanks! yeah i'm no audiophile per se but i do listen to music constantly and am in the market for something that sounds nice when turned up for college parties while being affordable!

drool....
Probably wouldn't recommend it for parties. I would go for a Z-2300 in that case. Just be careful cause back in my teenage phase of blasting music and dancing around the house when mom left for work caused me to blow the satellites for them in 2 weeks. The sub is a rock, though. I actually still have it...

They're incredibly great if you're a light listener. They can handle pretty much anything, and they get a good amount of loudness when turned up.

I went to these from the Logitech Z-5500 simply cause playing music through a 5.1 PC setup was kinda difficult (my music would trip over the L/C/R channels), and sometimes sounded clutter since you've got a 3.5" driver trying to drive mid's and high's.

Not to say the M10s are for audiophiles, nor am I one myself, but for a desktop setup and playing music at a low to moderate, it sounds extremely smooth while looking extremely sleek.

So the Swans wont shake the house but they're a pleasure to the ears if you're looking for a decent setup with clean output.

I see many people have those. I'll be looking at those and also anxiously waiting to see the Paradigm Shift set of speakers when those come out. Those are supposed to be some pretty badass speakers as well.

It took you 4 years to realize that glossy screen+window directly behind you=bad? Why didn't you do it sooner?

the desk was against the wall where my ps3 now sits. so there wasn't that much glare, just got tired of the heat coming from the window.

dumb question: what Logitech mouse is that?:D

TY

Edit: Performance Mouse MX?

it's the mx revolution like Whaditis said.

I don't know whether I'd be able to work with a PS3 in my office!

i got through junior and senior year of high school with it  contemplating if i could risk it at college.

My Setup

Here is my setup. The first pic is an overview of the whole thing. The second is my baby, the 27" iMac 2011 2.7ghz i5 and an old phone, an ipod touch 4g, normally, theres an iphone 4 there but thats what i was taking the pics with. The third picture is my Hp Win7 laptop hooked up to a Magnavox 19" TV via an HDMI cable. The fourth picture is showing that the HDTV is also connected to my Xbox 360. The last one is my mass of wires, idk why i put it there.

Excuse the not-so-good-quality. Had to take it from my Droid because my camera's battery is dead.

Today I got bumped up from a 2008 C2D MBP base model to a top-model 15" 2.3GHz MBP/HR/antiglare because I had taken it in enough times and it was the same repairs over and over so they just gave me a new laptop. Also treated myself to an iPad 2 from the money allocated for the new MBP.

God, I love Apple.

I have one of those, too! Framed and all. My favorite part about it is that it was issued January 8, 2007--one day before Apple Computer, Inc. became Apple, Inc. Says the former and I am NEVER getting rid of that. :D

NICE! Ill never sell my share... even if it is currently worth 3 times what it was bought for.

Thunderbolt MacBook (When it comes out...)

They are out, I own one, and you missed the point of this thread.

i had a feeling you'd reply saying something like that. i had looked at the M-Audio AV40s as well because some people have suggested that they do just fine without an added sub, which would be ideal. i don't need a massive speaker system, a couple satellites and maybe a sub if the system needs it. still looking around at the Z-2300 too.

I have a set of those mounts for my 4.1's... Sadly they're occupying the closet since I wouldn't want to be kicked out of my apartment. :(

a landlord will kick you out for putting screws in the wall? just patch them up with some spackle before you move out man

I had this Mac Mini hooked up to the living room TV as a media center, but I ended up getting very little use out of it set up that way. It was great, but with an ATV hooked up, it just wasn't necessary.

So, I decided to put together a desktop workstation with it instead.

My apologies for the crappy picture quality, I can work some magic with audio, but when it comes to visuals...eh, not so much.
