I'm looking for a desk thats similar to the Ikea Jerker which happens to be discontinued. Ideally I would like the desk to fit 2 possibly 3 monitors (Varying from 22-27") with shelf space above to put stuff and room on the side/in the front to place a laptop and possibly documents and whatnot

For those who don't know what the Ikea Jerker is:

Then you could purchase attachment shelves and whatnot to make it look more like this:

Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm not really a hands on guy so a DIY with a couple pieces of wood is out of the question.

ikea replaced the jerker with a less well built Frederick http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60111123

I realize you won't get the shelves you need, but have you considered a kitchen table? You can get a nice one at Ikea for just a couple hundred bucks that'll give you tons of surface area to work with. That's the only think I can think of beyond either buying an L- or U-shaped desk or shelling out big bucks for something custom-made.

@sporadicMotion - Thanks for sharing the wall!

^ I believe that's the controller for the Bose speakers.

Where did you get those rounded cubby hole things?

I bought the 5 cube set at the link below. They also sell them on Amazon, but they cost quite a bit more:

http://www.azardisplays.com/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=314

I had a couple of them behind the iMac, but I have moved two of them so the iMac could slide between the two with the speakers now. I also replace the cubes to the side with the smaller cubes that were behind the iMac. That leaves me with one large double cubed box, but it should be easy to find a spot for it. I mainly got them so that I could have my speakers up a little higher.

@Uofmtiger - Very nice set up !
Thanks, I do envy the look of those setups that have a display, a plant, a keyboard, and everything else out of site. However, for me, that just wouldn't work. It did look that way for five minutes when I cleared everything off so I could put in the white cubes, but it is now back to being an organized clutterfest..which is how I like it.:D

You might notice...no cables under the desk! Apart from power :)

How am I going to easily plug things in without moving the iMac though?

oops I missed your comment. I bought the mouse pad from Best Buy about six years ago. Not sure if they still make it but the brand name is Allsop and it was like $10.

Thank you sir, that mouse pad looks BOSS compared to the crappy one I have lol. I thought you payed WAY more from the looks of it. I can just assume it's good since you've had it 6 years.
