Finally got my mini set up. This is my room here in Afghanistan. Not too shabby for being out in the boonies of eastern afghanistan. Plus we now have a satellite for internet. I still have my macbook pro here to do video chat since this LG screen I just bought here doesn't have a camera. Obviously I can't have a nice clean wireless set up here, but hopefully once I get home and back into school I can get a proper desk set up for work.

Here's my setup:

3 desk in this room. (Home office)

One glass desk with an iMac (See Sig) with a Logitech MX Revolution mouse and some Logitech THX speakers suspended in some stage trusses I had laying around.

Two L-shape wood desks with whatever laptop I have on them at the time. Typically, it will be the MBP from my sig on the left desk, and then a bunch of paperwork on the right desk. It's kinda messy in this picture. ;)

Thanks =)

I use the space for work (and eating cookies). 3D motion graphics design and final cut editing mostly. I guess it all just depends on what the client asks for. Haha!!

Eh, I guess it kinda is. It never really gets boring. They say that when you do what you love, you'll love what you do. It's totally true for me

Impressive.

I hate you.

Yes, "messy" is not quite the right word here. :D

BTW, are these screens all connected to a single machine?
Which editor is that?
;)

EDIT: Wait, I guess that's emacs, right?

Sorry for multiposting sorry sorry sorry - I suck

Love the ADAMS and TC Pilot. Good taste :D

TOTALLY loving the painting and the MBP.

One thing I don't really get: why do some of you buy bad ass speakers and casually put them on a desk instead of getting some kind of non-resonating stand or wall bracket and doing the proper (1x1,3x1,3xyour height) triangular configuration?

Listening to some Dowland lute music on my Indiana Line speakers right now, on proper floor stands while I do some coding

Get the Nigel North recordings on Naxos if you care about this kind of music, won't be disappointed.

Thank you for your suggestion. I've been thinking about placing the Adams in a proper location, but my apartment is small to have separate stands. Moreover, I can't mount them on the wall because I'm not allowed to do so :(

What about building yourself a desktop version of these and put some rubber feet under them?

What's more, you can make them look Apple-ish if you wish so :)

ddsmyers, Hows have a macbook pro as what it looks like your main computer?

Works just fine :D I have a Winblows desktop that I use for work since they don't support Mac OS but my main computers at home are the Air and the Pro.
