It absolutely is and it will be hard to move from that to any glassy gloss screen on the iMac if I ever have to upgrade.

I used to think the same thing, then my matte MBP died and I'm currently forced to use a 24" glossy iMac. At first it was giving me a headache, but I turned the brightness down all the way and while I can still see reflections when the screen is dark, it's bearable.

Still, I'm glad it's only temporary, my 70%-reduced-glare Retinabook should be here shortly

Current Mac Pro Setup

Quite a few changes from a year ago because I needed more than than a MacBook Pro to power my workstation. Currently using a 12 core Mac Pro (self upgraded to 2x 3.46ghz).

Thanks for looking!

I have used an iMac quite a bit, my mom purchased one a couple of years back. It is nice, the screen is beautiful, but the glare is a killer. I'm not even close to being in the market (still rocking my 2008 Mac Pro) but if I have to make the move I do think where my display sits now will be the most ideal location for a glassy gloss screen. I had a MB Air and that wasn't too bad but the screen is smaller and it wound up being a couch surfer machine more than anything.

At first I thought it was the malm or the jonas from Ikea (which I still think it's from), but the backside goes all the way to the floor which I've never seen before!

So I am stumped!

I don't know much about Ikea as there aren't any nearby, but if you look at the second pic, you can see the bottom of the modesty panel behind the Mac Pro and to the left of the Mac Pro is the edge of another panel or something that seems to be sitting in front of the modesty panel. Would that work with your suggestions?

Ahhhh! I see it now. It might be a jonas, Guarneri is probably storing the extra slide out appendage underneath the table.

I like how we are deducing all of this through poring over pictures, where we could just wait for him to respond lol. Table-detectives!

Wow, nice! How do they sound as of now?

It's a great audio setup for sure. I listen to mostly classical music, and these are much better than the Martin Logans I use to use on my computer.

You guys are absolutely right! I put the slide out portion against the back to help with cable management.

I meant the widgets that you've used. Could you share a link to them? Thanks

I'm pretty lost lol. I drag shells onto the desktop, then use these scripts:

month: date '+%B' | tr "[:lower:]" "[:upper:]"

date: date '+%e' | tr "[:lower:]" "[:upper:]"

weekday: date '+%A' | tr "[:lower:]" "[:upper:]"

time: date +"%I:%M %p"

countdown: THEN=`date -v12y -v12d -v12m +%s`
SECS=$(($THEN-$(date +%s)))
echo "TEXT is in "$(($SECS/3600/24))" days"
