Can anyone recommend a STURDY desk that isn't made by IKEA? I'm tired of my whole desk shaking when I type. I currently have the Mikael, IIRCC, by IKEA.
Which Mac does power the Cinema Display?
My main setup

Hey can you tell me the name of that desk and where to get it please? Thanks man!
I'm on the boat deciding if I should get an IKEA desk or not myself. Their flimsiness is what bothers me as well. I have been told that Galant and Hemnes are great however, and doesn't easily shake like their Vika models do. My "ideal" desk is this one, but I don't think I can cough up the cash for one.. at least, not yet...
I'm not the original poster, but it looks like the IKEA Galant Corner Desk.
I recently had to re-vamp my entire office after my huge office desk fell apart.
Here's my latest setup. I'm really enjoying the less 'formal' vibe and the light, bright clean lines (my previous setup was dark timber veneer and twice the size).
nothing's changed since my last post, but i just really like this picture
Hmm, interesting. I think the Vika Adils might be the one to blame in overall flimsiness. Btw, nice setup (even without a Mac, it looks very neat)! Plus an early congrats!Vika isn't too bad of an option as long as you stabilize one of the sides with an Alex type unit. In my fiancee's study we have a 200cm Vika, with an Alex on one side and the birch veneer curved legs on the other.
As you can see I haven't moved in yet (<9 months to wedding) since there's no Apple stuff to be seen haha.
The Galant recommendations are right on, they're really solid desks. I'll also add in the Malm (or if you can find an old Jonas) as a decent sized work real-estate desk from Ikea that is <$180.

How are you connecting the sub to the MM-1?
That is a very pretty place to work.Vika isn't too bad of an option as long as you stabilize one of the sides with an Alex type unit. In my fiancee's study we have a 200cm Vika, with an Alex on one side and the birch veneer curved legs on the other.

The b&w asw608 is an active sub, with built in lowpass filter. I.e. You can connect it via minijack, and it will only play the low frequencies.
So i just used a splitter on the jack connected to the mac. One cable to sub, one to spakers. Was skeptical at first, because it's maybe not the best solution, but it sounds great, and works like a charm.
Just buy an active sub with lowpass filter, and you'll be fine.

Awesome! One thing that I am not fond of on the MM-1s is the lack of a sub and I have no idea why B&W decided to make it that way at least give us an option for a sub. How did you configure the Mac to make use of two outputs? My MM1s are plugged in via USB and their selected as the output source on the sound preferences so obviously when I plug in anything to the mini jack on the back of my mini I have to choose between using the mm-1 or the mini jack.
what/where do yo get th LED backlighting behind ur monitor
Awesome, Theres something about the old cinema displays that i like a lot.
