No, you misunderstood. Greg12345a indicated that he is going to use his laptop in claimshell mode now since his laptop screen is clearly having issues. So now Greg12345a is getting an external monitor and keyboard.

Bokkow indicated that Greg12345a could have just used the money for the external monitor and keyboard to purchase a brand new laptop screen for his Macbook. In another words, buy the laptop screen part off ebay since people sell their laptop parts all the time.

So yes, Bokkow read the post correctly.

My bad...

Decided to change my picture above my desk. I think I like this one better ;) Excuse the bad quality images…

Nice setup.

The fact that Steve Jobs and John Lennon are on that picture with MLK and big Al is disheartening. The fact that the latter were cropped so that the former could take of the lion's share of the image is downright depressing.

1999? You sure about that? Those machines weren't introduced until January of '02.

Thanks for your remark!
Oops, perhaps I have to check that better, stay tuned!

Cheers!

Super jealous of the first two.

Thanks for your WOW reply! ;-) Indeed I'm very happy with my little Apple Museum. Hope that Apple wil release a new MP this year, so that I can officially add my MP 3,1 (early 2008) to my old-stuff collection!

NEVER NUFF UP-AND-RUNNING OLDIES!!! ;)

Cheers to you all!

Not quite following you

He means MLK should be in the middle & not cropped out on the side

I didn't really crop the image, I just didn't have a big enough frame ;)

if you can swing it, I'd suggest an ergotron LX mount for your asus monitor. I have the same monitor and had it sitting on some books, but recently switched them out for the same arm and I am really digging the extra desk real estate and the ability to put the monitor at the optimum height and the option to go portrait. just a thought.

I actually have that exact mount sitting in my closet. I had a monitor mounted to the wall at my old house, but I don't want to put holes in this wall because when the new ACDs come out, I will be getting two of those and the Asus and the MBP will be coming off the desk. I am just pissed because I lost the desk mount for the Ergotron.

I question if Apple will offer VESA mounts for the new displays. The iMac's just recently started to ship separate models that have VESA mounts instead of the stands.

I don't plan on wall mounting the ACD's, but I do hope they have the option incase I change my mind down the road.
