The Mac Pro that's connected to the monitor is hiding behind the white wall, no noise at all!

The laptop usually hangs on the side of the drawer with green .. drawers? I have made a hanger so it can easily be swapped and inserted to the keyboard with a kvm-switch for usb and two TB-cables (monitor and external storage+Apogee Duet sound card). Now I just wanted to show it on the desktop :D

Next step is to exchange the desk for a white one, I have one in mind that is very simplistic... and remove the sticker from the shelf hehe.

The guitars by your desk are those all bass guitars? Because i see bass tuners on the guitar in the back but the strings look to thin to be a bass guitar

It must be the perspective then, it's three bass guitars :)

One Conklin GrooveTools 7-string, one Fender 4-string P-bass and one Yamaha TRB-6.

(for Bassnerds, tuning hi-low: C-A, G-E, G-F#. I really like those low A-notes).

cute cat. looks like he found a spot he likes up top.

hah, yup, he sits there overlooking by demonkilling and bassplaying. There or on the rug, warming my feet.

Holy!! Did you just say 7 string bass??!! That's gotta be extremely low

Here's my new setup, sorry its not great quality, i took it with my iPhone 5S.

the Mac Mini is the top of the line late 2012 with the 1 TB fusion drive with 128gb SSD

The MacBook Pro w/ Retina is the the top of the line quad core i7 with 16GB of ram and a 512GB SSD, and its honestly the fastest computer I've ever used in my entire life, its incredible.

I have an old PowerMac G5 that's not being used as to block the cable mess and I just took the cover off to cover some more cables under the desk, and that thing on top of the PowerMac is just a network switch

What kind of desk lamp are you using? I really like it!

As an Audio Engineer, I'm loving the 7 string bass. And I agree, those low A notes sound just beautiful. Great setup btw!

Thanks :) Yes, and the 6-string goes almost an octave below the Fender. But that F# is super low. It is not distinct at all and needs space to "stand out". It's better used live where you can use it to get "a feeling" rather than the specific tone.

I've yet to ever record a 7 string bass, but my friend plays one and its just beautiful to listen to. I can imagine a good bass player with great kit would be fantastic to record. Slightly envious right now...

Do you follow set up instructions for you hackinstosh? It is something I am considering doing in the summer as my iMac is getting slightly long in the tooth.

Had any massive problems with day to day use?

I had a hackintosh for about 2 years, and as long as you buy the right compatible parts, you should have no issue at all! it's incredibly easy to set up now with the new usb boot/install drives. I'd check out tonymax86 for more but I loved having the power of a $2,500 Mac Pro for a quarter of the price

My desk is currently wherever I am sitting in my apartment. This is currently at my GF make-up table... I feel pretty.

I have a W7 on that SD card via virtual machine right now.

This laptop is about 4 days old for me (2013 Macbook Pro 13 128gb/8gb)

Parallels? How does it perform?

I have 13 MBP with two drives and my W7 WM is on HDD and not on SSD but would love to free that space up.

Virtualbox. It performs alright, programs do open a little slow but I would say about the same as a 5400rpm drive. I keep a W7 install for just in case I do not do any real work in that environment.

Just transitioning iMacs and thought I'd grab a rare chance to snap them side-by-side.

LHS prepping to be eBayed: 2010 i3 27" 16GB with self-installed 512 SSD. RHS: 2013 i7 27" 32GB 1TB SSD 780M (aka "fully loaded")
