I'll eventually move away from taking photos with shaky hands and an iPhone, but it is not this day.

Really nice setup! Though i am no fan of figurines etc. on a desk, but that's just my 2 cents =) How is that monitor performing? I bet it is really nice for multitasking..

By the way, what speaker is that under the screen? I'm looking to create a similar setup maybe with a bose sound link mini II in that exact spot!

The screen is phenomenal! The colours are superb, and I haven't touched it with a colorimeter yet. I just knocked the blindingly bright brightness down from 70-30%.

It works a treat through thunderbolt and I have access to the USB ports through it.
Working on it has fantastic, and I simply find it frustratingly hard and annoying working on a standard 16:9 27 monitor from time to time.

The matte anti-glare coating is easily the best I've ever seen and used. There is no issues with colours looking faded, or dull and it performs extremely well under natural light. I have a large 1m x 1.5m window next to it that gets direct sunlight in. While it does affect it on blacks and dark colours, it's a league of its own against an unusable Apple Cinema Display.

Photos taken with the sun shining directly in through the window against my desk.

The little speaker is the Inateck Bluetooth one, and it also has that line in connector. It's actually brilliant, although it's certainly not a looker like the Bose one.

Just a quick crappy shot of my current setup

As you can see currently without speakers, im looking to replace the broken old ones as soon as possible. Was thinking about a Bose sound link mini since i have a HiFi system for the "serious" listening..

Tanks for all the info! As you can see i am on a Dell U2412M so no USB-Support via thunderbolt for me :( And no widescreen :D

I think your speaker looks alright, i bet it was also a lot cheaper than the Bose ;)

I know those monitors. They have 1 VGA and two HDMI ports. Looks like he's used the 1 HMDI and now using mini display port to VGA.

I would have gone mini DP to HDMI myself, but maybe he already had the adapter?

Bingo. Gonna replace the VGA with dvi to mini display soon.

what do you think of the game

It's phenomenal. It's just everyone a fan of old cRPGs would love, but one a modern engine and system.

I'd be over the moon if the same engine was used to recreate Baldur's Gate 1 & 2.

Is that the imported ultra hd one or just the standard wide one? I was looking at getting one but I don't want to mess around with power adapters. I'll probably wait for the official north american release of the ultra hd.

It's got a resolution of 3440x1440, I haven't heard anything of a UHD one of 5120 × 2160 yet.

Since I'm in Ireland, I use the same power connectors as the UK so I didn't have an issue there.

It's worth noting LG are rather fussy about regional warranties, and if you import you'll be in a world of hurt. For instance someone in the UK ordered one months ago from Germany, he developed some natty backlight bleed and UK LG department wanted nothing to do with it. Forced him to ship back to the german retailer and deal with them.

So you're much better off waiting for it to come into stock in the States.
