lean or something similar every so often takes care of all that though. Now as far as my mbp goes i have noticed a bit of paint wearing off just below the left command key.

The key paint? Because the rest of the MBP body isn't painted - its just alum.

OK, we've been OT for so long, a mod has had to come in and delete a lot of it.

So let's end this right now. No more discussions of my views on technology. (Pm me if you really want to do that.)

Now, so that this post isn't completely OT, here's a picture of my mini the very night I got it. :)

See!! you had a different desk.

Did you notice your post isn't purple? :p:p

Wow...You really do love old things eh?

If you look just below the bottom row of keys there is a bevel between the keyboard and the flat palm area of the mbp. That bevel is actually painted and due to repeated use of command key it has worn the paint off in that spot. I don't know if its an aluminum part or plastic since its still silver under the paint. Just a slightly diff color of silver.

Give it a rest, ladies. This is for pictures, and pictures only.

So that I'm not being hypocritical, here's a snap of my 'top.

Awesome setup. Nice and clean.

Bet the MacBook smokes the G5! :p

I'm gonna probably end up getting a white MacBook before all is said and done. I love 'em.

Thank you :)

Yes, MacBook's processor is significantly faster than my G5, so I use it for Handbrake and other iPod/iTunes-related conversions.

Still, iMac has a significantly better/bigger screen that is much more comfortable to work with, better speakers and more RAM, so I use it for serious stuff as photo and video editing, GarageBand, keeping my web site up-to-date and watching movies I download from the internet.

wow....
....
sun..
ive heard so much about that thing, whats it like to experience for real?
seriously thou, im an aussie, im used to heat and sun lol

:D the sky is clear here most of the winter, but the temps are usually from -15C to - 8C. In summer the sky is clouded more often than when its clear and its raining quite often.

So I bet its not as hot as in Australia ;)

It's always nice to have a desktop around. I love my iMac!

I'd say the G5 is still plenty adequate for most things. I've actually never had the pleasure of using a G5 iMac (or a White Intel one, for that matter) so I'd really like to see one someday. I think they look great. I rate the looks of them equal to the Aluminum iMacs, which is what I have.

I'll probably post another pic of my setup in a few days. Too lazy to take pics right now. :p

Been looking at mac setups all night. lol might as well post mine before i rearrange. The first pic is my desk in the dorm room that i share with 2 other guys. How do you use two computers at once?

well, i usually take the family whitebook up to my room to use with my imac, its kinda hard to use both at once, i must say, but i can switch regularly, like facebook and ichat on the macbook, macrumors, mail, and regular safari stuff on the imac, and switch every 3 minutes, but using both simutaneously is not easy.

I have 4 arms. Doesn't everyone?

Really though, it's all about multi-tasking. There are certain tasks that my MBP is better suited to, particularly in the realm of running Windows via Parallels, and CS3. Whilst my MDD has the visual real estate to work on servers and clients via ARD and working on giant project tracking apps that my bosses so do love.

Well, Actually I have 8 Arms. Yes I'm an Octopus and I would really appreciate it if you didn't make fun.

I don't know exactly how he does it, but here's how I use two computers simultaneously:

The Mac Pro does the heavy lifting-video, ripping DVDs in Handbrake, watching movies, gaming, what have you. The MacBook I do all my typing on, chatting, surfing, so on and so forth. Often I'll have my desktop playing iTunes while I'm laying on my bed chatting on Adium.

I use two computers at once also and use the freeware Teleport to switch between the mouse and keyboard controls between the two computers seamlessly. It can sometimes be a bit flaky after waking the computers from sleep but it is quickly resolved. This way it is really easy to keep the two computers on the go at the same time and quickly do things on one computer and switch back to the other. It is definitely worth checking out if you have two computers.

I used that once, but it doesn't have video, so i don't really see the REAL need for it, unless you just use your MB as your hybrid keyboard for your mb and imac.
