Might I suggest behind one of the laptops, or under the desk?
May I ask do you have your LG burner hooked up to the Gateway or Mac???
Just got the new desk.
Sorry for the mess, Im doing an English portfolio, which is due tomorrow.

A slight update to my setup with my new stand for my MacBook:
btw
Wow, my dad has the shelf version of that furniture kit, I'm looking at the desk that you have now for my self, it looks pretty crappy in the pics, but god, you make the desk look good :p, and you have carpet in your room too, so it really would replicate what i can get. So, how is the desk? sturdy? any cons? and as for the keyboard drawer, can you put that on the long side of the "L"? Thanks a lot, I think this may just convince me to buy it.
Also, can you PM the exact dimensions of it? I think I'm on a hook here. And can you install that little shelf thing to the short side of the "L"?[/QUOTE]
The desk is surprisingly sturdy.
First off, you will need to clear out the area you are going to put it, along with the surrounding ( to put it together). Also, once the entire desk is put together, it is incredibly hard to move, so I suggest connecting the two halves in its final resting place.
The only con I have noticed is not actually in the desk, it simply took a long time to put it together right. Really tighten every single screw, and make sure everything is aligned perfectly.
As for the dimensions:
[B]Height[/B]
The main surface desk is 29 and 1/2 inches.
And the keyboard pullout is 26 inches.
The shelf on the longer portion is seven inches higher than the main surface.
[B]Length[/B]
The shorter desk surface 27 x 32
The longer desk is 47 and 1/2 x 27
The shelf is 48 x 12
And for the modifications; You cant really.
The only possible thing you could do is drill small hole on the longer portion to attach the keyboard pullout, but you would need to be extremely carful not to punch through the top laminate. The shelf is too long to attach to the shorter part of the "L", and it would require some heavy modification.
But in all honesty, get the desk. For 90 bucks, its a steal. Its a tremendous improvement from what I had, and if put together right, is well worth it.
:D
If I were to want to know what that clock screensaver is, I am sure that a search of past pages in this thread would produce the answer.

I just recently updated mine
Mine was to big to show
Thank you, thank you, thank you (etc.)
Now, if you could please, how long is the "long" including the corner piece, and how long is the "short" side including the corner piece.
This desk sounds like a good deal, and i may get maple/black too. I agree, it was a pain in the ass to put my dads shelf together (same z-line series).
Also, can you make it as though you have the "short" side in front of you, and the "long" side to your left? in your photo, the "long" side is to the right, i'd like it to be "left" of the short side, do you understand? lol
The measurement of the long side including the corner piece is 75 inches, and the measurement of the short side including the corner piece is 59 inches.
I actually intended on switch the desk as you described, but you cannot. The way the legs are set up, there are over hangs, which are needed to connect to center corner. It wont work the other way. Sorry.
Just got the new desk.

Wow, having to turn your contort your body to type and look at the iMac must be uncomfortable.
Aww, dude, please, i cant even fit that on my 24"er! I had to download the [B]1.6mb[/B] .jpg and see it:p[/QUOTE]
Even with the [img] tags you still have to download the entire 1.6MB.

I had that desk once (look through my old pics [URL="http://rogersmj.com/tech/workstations"]here[/URL]) and while I agree it's a decent deal for the $50-$90 you can get it for, it's far from "sturdy". I eventually threw it away because it bowed so much in the middle -- and it never had anything heavier than a few LCDs on it. Still, not bad for a cheap desk.

well here is my current desk:
[url]https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/5147347/[/url]
It is EXTREMELY sturdy, thick wood, and I don't want cheap quality or anything that will sink when I put my imac on it. and my desk was like $500, so that had to mean something (heavy wood). and it looks thin indeed, when i get home tonight I'm gonna see if my dad's shelf has "bowed". I am thinking hard, and though IKEA has nice stuff thats equal to that desk, I'm not really interested in buying from them.
Also, if you wanted to use the burner only (no lightscribe) you don't even need to install anything - OS X should recognize it automatically.
