Speaking of orange ibooks, last weekend I got a matching mouse (with a very short cable) for free. :)

In front of my MacBook Pro
As of this weekend, a 12" 1.5 Ghz PowerBook w/ 1.25 Gb RAM and a 100 Gb HD, in addition to my Mac Pro. The PowerBook is great to travel with (got it here with me in the airport) and it's still quite snappy for a 2 year old machine.

hey, you guys with nice setups in college, aren't you afraid your stuff's going to get ruined. I'm hesitant to buy anything nice in the few years before college because I heard stuff gets ruined/broken easily in college.

What do you mean?

If you do not take care of your items, sure they can get ruined in college or even in the comfort of your home.

It depends on the person.

When I was at the dorms, I was partially worried, but not about my comp. I had got the locking cable for my PBG4, and just made sure my door was locked whenever I left. I mean, the lock only really protects it from people walking down the hall lifting peoples' stuff, otherwise someone who really wanted your comp could cut through it easily. I had a few iPods during college - no problem; TV - np; DVD player/surround sound -np; printer/external speakers/air port express - np; I was mostly worried about someone sealing my DVDs - and I only lost 1 :)

P.S. for the 997 GT2, I forgot what magazine proclaimed this, but they called it the cure for jet lag ...:)

as long as you lock your dorm room door it's fine.

I don't want to be raped :(
I adore the Porsche 911. My boss has a black '08 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet and it's drop dead beautiful. He is supposed to be taking me for a ride sometime soon. :D

Porsches are the most gorgeous cars in my opinion. After I get out I am going to buy a ~1998 911 twin turbo as my present to myself. Of course keep my Sentra as a winter car. :)

As for the whole dorm thing, no I am not worried at all. I live in my uni's new suits so they are like hotel doors you need a swipe card to get in, and they are big and heavy doors that close behind you. Plus I keep my room room door locked a good amount of the time as well. So no worries just password protect everything and of course as long as you are under 23 you are on your parents home owners insurance, keep your receipts!!

Just be sure to keep drinks away from your laptop. Liquid damage is SO easy to do and SO expensive to fix.
