I think his emphasis is more on the fact that the Apple displays are so much more expensive, despite having less features. Irregardless of whether or not you use the extra features on the Dell/whatever, he's saying it's not worth the extra money.

I haven't actually read the original post. I'm just guessing here.

Yes, but my point is that those "extra features" have a value of exactly $0 to me as long as I have the one connection I need. I can see how the extra connections make the dell monitor a more flexible choice that can appeal to a wider audience, but as a single member of that audience, I only need to hook the monitor up to one computer with one kind of connection.

What, do I seem young? I live at the University of Toronto. Mine looks significantly better. Look at his walls and his carpeting, and his desk(s). A comparison can be drawn to almost any other college/university dorm I've seen, in my opinion.

Wow... so his dorms aren't up to your standards... big deal; you don't have to live there. Let it go.

If you're perpetuating the argument, I'm going to bite one last time, for your use of 'extra features'. These aren't 'extra' features, they are the basic features that *any* monitor should have. As I said in an earlier post, even a £100 19" widescreen from some unheard of Chinese brand will have at least 2x different inputs. Apple aren't omitting 'extra' features, they are omitting basic functionality. That's the last I will say on the subject in this thread, as I don't wish to be banned again for trying to get some sense across to somebody, so if you want to continue the conversation please PM me.

Calm down, bud. Like I said, he realizes that you only need one input; it was just a point that he was making that the Dell has more features, but like I said, he was implying that even if you don't need the features, the Dell is still a better value. I'm not trying to attack you here. I know what your opinion is.

And as for the dorm thing, I was just elaborating on the fact that I do attend college, which is why I made the comparison. He already agreed that the dorms are rather old/run-down.

Let's calm down, yeah?

Sorry for derailing the thread.

With the white balance in this first pic it looked for a second like you changed your key cover for the second pic:D

Maybe I've got two iSkin covers with different shades of blue :D Just kidding. The first pic was taken at night (no flash, rather high ISO with optical image stabilizer) and the second pic during day time, check out the time on the clock :p

would you recommend that sumsung printer?

Yep. It's super cheap and works well with my Mac (except it puts an ugly symbol on the menubar when the printer is active, this can be removed by exiting the software). I only use it to print B&W documents (normally essays). One cartridge lasts approx. 2,000 pages. Best printer for student.

The model is ML-2240 and is bought from Amazon UK for around £45 ($100). It's got great specs as well when compared to similarly priced HP mono laserjet. It's got higher memory, faster processor, cheaper cost per page etc. Highly recommended.

Remember you can always grab old HP LJ4 (M or M+) off ebay for next to nothing - I got mine with 1500 pages worth of toner & a JetDirect card for £13. They're probably the most reliable printers ever made (268,000+ pages here), work with everything, toner is dirt cheap, etc.

heh, I wasn't worked up at all, just trying to make my point clear because I thought you hadn't gotten what I was saying.

The new MBs are so damn gorgeous. for some reason I think they look a lot better than the new MBPs, even though they're basically the same. Anyway, congrats, you'll love it.

Here's my opinion on the ACD rape price. It's a luxury, the price is for the branding, correct? as many of you guys stated, the Dell monitors have equal to better functions than the ACD for less of a price.

My comparison: LV clutch or H&M purse?

I LOVE the new MacBook, but after seeing those first, I just think the new MBPs look awkward with the speakers on the sides. just me right? :)

Truth to be told, the new LED Display is cheap.
