That's not my point. My point is that you are paying more for exactly the same S-IPS panels but with next-to-no inputs. Does the shiny metal case really justify losing all but one of the inputs & massively hiking the price? I suppose for some people that answer is yes & I feel genuinely sorry for them for being so naive.

Why do I need more than one input as long as I have the right one?

I think his emphasis is more on the fact that the Apple displays are so much more expensive, despite having less features. Irregardless of whether or not you use the extra features on the Dell/whatever, he's saying it's not worth the extra money.

I haven't actually read the original post. I'm just guessing here.

I keep hearing this everywhere I turn. This is not directed at you cleanup, but I'm generally curious why people only talk about all the wonderful connections Dell offers while ignoring the differences between S-IPS and S-PVA panels. One thing I've learned about Apple is that they don't do everything and the kitchen sink, as PCs do, but do offer most of what you need and it's done very well.

The same argument can be made about phones. I have a friend that swears by his Windows Mobile phone. He's always bragging about how it can do all of these 100's of things that my iPhone can't. I think some people just miss the point about why people opt to buy more expensive and less feature-rich Apple gear.

My set up with a new addition.

The z-5450 satellites are on the walls around me, so that would be hard to see in the picture! =) Sorry for the mess. Studying for a medicinal chemistry exam. I don't know how any working person can keep their desk so clean and clear of clutter. And as a side note - I LOVE my MBP. If I decide to go to a new mac, I think it would be for a macbook. The new pros just don't tickle me in the same way!

Got my new MacBook so I thought it was time to post an updated Set-Up.
I apologize in advance for the poor cable management, but it's the best I could do with what I am given. I will be moving to my own apartment at college in January so I will have to set-up everything again anyway.

I actually haven't played Counter Strike in almost 2 years. I loaded it up this afternoon to see how bootcamp ran.

How do you play it in OSX? I tried Crossover Games a little while ago, but it didn't work great.

I use Crossover Games. It runs pretty much perfect (as opposed to TF2) as long as you do some tweaking. I wont lie though - the X11/Wine system for mouse movement is the most frustrating POS you will ever see. and an fps game is about mouse movement so blah. I take back what I said. But I still hate dual booting so OS X it is :p

You guess correctly.

That argument would only be valid if all of the monitors I was referring to used S-PVA panels instead of S-IPS, which they don't. The 30" Dell for example uses a S-IPS panel, probably exactly the same panel as the 30" ACD, but costs £200 less. Dell also aren't the only company to offer S-IPS panels with more inputs than Apple for substantially cheaper either.
