Expose

I was in Expose this morning and thought it might be a cool shot.

You've probably see my set-up in this thread before, so I won't bore you with the details beyond: 6 monitors on a single Mac Pro, and I write software.

do you sometimes forget which coke zero is the 'current' one? when i was up late studying or something to that effect... i would have to shake the cans a little to see which one had coke left in it and was cold. sometimes (10-15 cans on desk) i would give up and grab a new one.

the sound the next morning as i threw them away was always like:
dink dink dink dink DONK(fizz....) [ <-- the one i gave up on ] dink dink dink dink

Sometimes. :) I try to get them into the recycle bin as quick as possible, but it doesn't always happen. Usually the more intense the debugging, the more the cans pile up.

I've never much liked cans because you can't see if they're empty, but I buy them on palettes of 32 cans--they are much cheaper than bottles at the grocery... so I deal with it.

Hahahaha... that is a frequent experience for me...
I also thought it was funny that Bwa also drinks polar seltzer... the other can-type that piles up on me.

thats one awesome set-up! is your mac pro one of the fully loaded ones? what are the specs?

awesome coke zero can btw!:D

I heard coke zero isn't very good for you at all... I mean, I know normal coke isn't great, but there's a carcinogen in coke zero...

I believe Coke Zero is NutraSweet, same as Diet Coke. That's not to say it's good for you--and Coke in any form is bad for teeth, sugar or not (source: my dentist).

Diet Coke with Splenda is (was?) an awesome beverage--and it tastes better than Coke Zero, but it's hard to find here.

I try to drink more Seltzer water and filtered water, but I don't always pull it off. Lately I've been putting in 80+ hr/wks trying to finish up a product, and the Coke consumption is up.

It's 8x2.8. 12 GB of RAM, 4 TB of local storage. 3x ATI 2600 cards.

Here's the rear of the machine, since this is a picture thread:

The PC here is a dual core Xeon w/ 8 GB of RAM and 2 TB of local storage.

The gray power cable for the eSATA chassis is from my Mac II (1987). I think it's the oldest surviving piece of gear in my office.

excuse the ccfl light i only turn it on to look at the insides, I keep it off otherwise

That's actually a G5 Power Mac casing. :)

oh same thing :D

wow, thats a lotta money for those specs. my almost complete(stupid wireless card!) hackintosh cost me ~300$ with 2GB RAM, a 160GB HDD, 2.2Ghz processor.

if you can help me out with my wireless that would really get me to use OS-X instead of Vista. I got a TEW 603pi model wireless adapter.

well I built the thing like a year and a half ago in march so prices were higher back then.

as for your wireless adapter i dont think it's compatible with os x

you should check out the forums at www.insanelymac.com for help though I haven't really tried to do anything with wifi adapters on hackintoshes
