Home built hackintosh on left, MacBook on right

Hmm, a hackintosh built with a G5 casing. Ah, I love the smell of irony in the evening!

Setup looks quite nice, as well.

Thanks! :)
specs on the hackintosh are:

CPU: core 2 quad q6600
Ram: Corsair xms2 2gig ddr2 800
Mobo: Gigabyte 965P-DQ6
HDD: Seagate 7200.10 500gb
PSU: Seasonic M12 600w

My watercooling loop consists of:
2x120mm radiator
2x120mm Noctua fans
D-Tek Fuzion CPU Waterblock
Aquaxtreme MP1 GPU waterblock
Swiftech mini res
Laing ddc pump
7/16" ID masterkleer tubing

2.4Ghz MacBook
2x20" dell LCDs
16gb iPhone

a view of the inside:

excuse the ccfl light i only turn it on to look at the insides, I keep it off otherwise

I like it! It's got the nice aluminum body of a Mac, but it cost lest and has the cool lights inside.

I was in Expose this morning and thought it might be a cool shot.

You've probably see my set-up in this thread before, so I won't bore you with the details beyond: 6 monitors on a single Mac Pro, and I write software.

Very cool. Where do you get those monitors that are two-in-one?

I believe Coke Zero is NutraSweet, same as Diet Coke. That's not to say it's good for you--and Coke in any form is bad for teeth, sugar or not (source: my dentist).

Diet Coke with Splenda is (was?) an awesome beverage--and it tastes better than Coke Zero, but it's hard to find here.

I try to drink more Seltzer water and filtered water, but I don't always pull it off. Lately I've been putting in 80+ hr/wks trying to finish up a product, and the Coke consumption is up.

Coke zero has the artificial sweetener in it - Aspartame, which has been linked to cancer.

NutraSweet = Aspartame

The thing is, _everything_ has been linked to cancer. If someone dies, it's safe to say "was it cancer?". I'm only half kidding here.

Back to pictures. Just to stay on topic (who cares about cancer in a Mac picture thread :) ), here's one:

I just don't want someone with that setup to die of cancer, that's all. I love that setup. Always have. I wouldn't have the need for it all (wouldn't know what to do in each window) and couldn't afford the electricity.

Thanks :) Can't argue with this; I don't want the guy with that set-up to die of cancer either!

The electric bill sucks, but it does turn into a partial tax write-off.

College Dorm Setup

Been following the thread for a while, but never posted before, so I dug up some pics of my dorm setups. Nothing amazing but does the job! Before I get asked, no I did not steal those Dells, they were getting rid of them at my job and I took care of it :)

Setup two years ago:

Setup last year (PowerBook and PC):

Current setup (On monitors: PowerBook, Linux Wksn. Desktops: Linux Server (retiring soon), Windows Wksn, Linux Wksn):

Hopefully soon enough, this will all be replaced by a Mac Pro!

Oh damn, you got a book as well! Is it for fixing with pictures on the field?

It's for lots of things, but of course for photography. Regardless of people's complaints about the glassy display, I can deal. Quit whining.

I spent a good 5 hours on it today working on newspaper layouts and let me tell you, it really makes you appreciate the real estate the 30" offers.

Did you ever get that lens that you were waiting weeks for?

Here is my setup. The Mac Mini isn't doing much atm, the macbook is driving the 2nd monitor. Its pretty simplistic, might even sell the mini soon since the macbook makes for a very nice desktop replacement when you use it with a keyboard, mouse and external screen.

EDIT: My desk isn't such a strange colour normally, looks like the files have been compressed horribly.
