snip random adolescent excuse for poor posting ...
I think the Macbook pros a bit heavy and big to carry around with me every day. But I would get so much more with an iMac for £1000 or even the bottom of the line Mac Pro.

To be honest, as far as it goes here in the states the standard in architecture is AutoCAD. Last I checked Autodesk has no intentions of releasing this on a Mac. They had discussed it and hired a developer more than 5 years ago (when I inquired) but never seemed to get there. If I were going back to school to finish a degree in Architecture I would ensure that the school was going to use an application that ran natively on my computer. The unfortunate aspect of this all is you're at the mercy of your University.

Yes, I am aware you can run windows on a Mac, but if my primary focus was school (and it will be in an architecture program) then I would buy a computer that runs the application as smooth as possible. I'm sure the MBP can handle it but the MacPro or the higher end iMac would handle it much better. Just keep that in mind and you may want to ask your Professors before you shell out a load of cash on a Mac and find out it is worthless to you in the long run.

It's been a while since I had been here, and it was many threads ago... think it was #5 or #6, and we're are still discussing fliqo... considering it's been mentioned on page1.

What's this obsession with this screensaver? really. Surely theres enough to talk about, than this blasted screensaver... surely?

Wow! Part 8 now! Where does the time go....

... anyway, mine is not much. At all. So, here's one that's more interesting, from about a year ago.

1.67GHz 15" PBG4, Dell E248WFP, wired Aluminum Keyboard, MX Revolution.

Old thinkpad used as laptop stand.

I'm just more amazed by the fact that as much as it's brought up around here, people still don't know what it is.

But it's alright, I don't mind.

hey guys is their a flat panel for which i could connenct my macbook and watch tv on it is for my dorm when i start college in the fall:cool:

I think he means the standard question that is asked about the clock...

That your sig. addresses
Ya, that would be it, haha. I think it has been mentioned on every other page in this thread already. The was one post in a past thread where the questioned was asked and answered 3 times after the post. Was it that hard for people to read the responses to a post to see that their question had been asked and answered?

And there isn't anything great about it, it is just amazingly popular, I used it for a few months and got bored of it. It is just that there is always somebody who doesn't have enough energy to go to google or mroogle and type in the search...

I love some of these setups. I am in the process of rearranging my desk so i shall but my setup when i have done so. The clock screensaver is amazing it was worth looking through all the different threads just for that!:D

Hmm i actually like it lemme guess ikea?? Ikea rocks! xD

lol do know really. its a university bedroom. the is probably 2.4m wide, and the desk is 2.4m wide ie its end to end. but the chair is crap, also im quite heavy so its even worse.

o well, next year when i move into a house im planning on getting a Herman Miller Mirra - my parents have that in one of the study's, can sit on it for days probably and not feel it:p

great setups guys :) my favorite types are the dual montior ones. Can someone recomend me should I get a 2.0 ghz or the 2.4 macbook:apple:
Im a power user but I probably won't notice the 400MHz more oh and how bright is the backlight on the 2.4 Thanks

I just turn my screen off for a screensaver. It is a true screen"saver". I love all the PowerBook setups because I have one. I think that some of the pictures on this thread are better looking than the ones on Apple. One thing I have to recommend is to turn the flash off when taking pictures of old style MBP's and PowerBook Alu's so you do not get a keyboard with horizontal lines on it. Plus the flash makes glare spots on the screen.
