Are you going to order the new Mac Pro UM?

Looking at the benchmarks, it's not worth it for me. It's only looking about 1.5x faster for my work, and that's not worth $5900 for the system, and thousands of dollars in RAM.

I am going to be ordering the ATi HD 4870 upgrade kit when it's available, however.

Is that small external drive the new Blu-Ray burner for Mac?

What small external drive? The black thing on the desk or the silver device in the background?

The black thing on the desk is a Kindle 2, and the thing in the background is my tv...just haven't got a better place for it right now except on top of the printer.

My dorm setup... Not the prettiest, but it gets the job done:

dsc5587u.jpg

I use the Pismo for AIM, Facebook, MR, and other "mindless" stuff, thus leaving the MBP dedicated to actual work. I love actively using older hardware.

Keyboard is from the original iMac G3... Wacom Graphire Tablet (getting an Intuos soon). 250GB MyBook and 500GB MyBook behind the MBP, along with some Bose desktop speakers.

I just finished cleaning up so took a few photos before it gets messy again. I added the wireless printer and uMBP 17". A 1TB TC sets on the other side of the printer and under the desk is a 1TB LaCie FW800. So far everything has been playing well together.

OMG!! What is that screen saver? It looks so much cooler than that "other" one that only displays a flip clock.

(I'm kidding, I don't actually want to know, even though it is nice.)

I would like to know what kind of desk you have there. Where did you buy it, how much does it cost approximately, etc.? Thanks!

Moshi ClearGuard

Could you possible post a couple close up shots of the Moshi ClearGuard? I'm very interested in one.

Here you go... I definitely recommend it as it's awesome and really thin, and the overlap on function keys doesn't bother me at all because all the other keys fit perfectly. I ordered mine from here on a Thursday and I had it arrived the following Monday to London! well worth it, and way thinner than the iSkin/zCover ones!

Haha, this response may be creepy, but it's only because I saw this setup a while ago and did my own research (on MRoogle and the rest of the interwebs) and found out what it is!

The desk and other desk-like items are by Bush.
I think he used this and two of these, which are 48" but come in 36", 60" and 72" variants along with "peninsula" style with a rounded end.

srl[/] bought it at Staples I believe, but you can also get them from Bush Office Furniture Direct. You'll want to look at the Series A line in Hansen Cherry for that desk. :)

Hope this helps.

How come everybody has a clean desk? Usually I have a clean desk too, but there are times when it just gets like this (below). I didn't bother cleaning up before I posted....I know a lot of you can get messy, right? I hope I'm not the only one, otherwise I'll re-post with a cleaner desk :D.

The part of the desk I use

This is the part where paper gets thrown to

This is the PC that my wife and son uses.

Is that desk from Ikea or Structube? It looks very similar to the one that im thinking of getting at structube. Btw, nice setup.

Thanks! I placed my order. The iSkin I have is just way too thick and annoying.

They are part of the Bush Cubix collection. You can find them in several places including on-line (store). I purchased those from Staples locally. Here is the link Bush Cubix

The prices are not too bad. Not shown is a Lateral file which is however expensive and I've never understood why they charge so much for those.

The link will also show all the different color combos that are available. The furniture is very stable and looks great. The pictures really don't do it justice.

Time Machine Screen Saver even tho you were kidding. Someone else may like it.

DoH! I should have read slower, you would have saved me a post. Your exactly right on. I can't say enough good things about the furniture. It works great, is clean and "Just Works". Perfect for my Apple products.
