I absolutely love it! My "finally close to where I want it" comment is because the only thing I feel like I'm missing is another one :D

It definitely makes a big difference in a lot of my workflows, especially through things like being able to get to more of my timeline in Final Cut and having quicker access to more palettes in Adobe applications.

The 2709W looks really sweet, I'm looking forward to seeing some of your photos after you get it up and running!

Yeah I will definitely post some pics once I get it, which according to Dell, should be tomorrow. I got it for pretty much half off too, which makes me even happier. :D

Hey, can I have the wallpaper link to the one in your old setup (green grass and blue sky). Thanks :) Wicked setup btw, I wish I had a nice clean setup like you!

Why do you have 2 iMacs?
One is my sister's. It was purchased for my birthday last year, and then early this year, when the 2009 models were about to be released, my current one went on sale for $300 less; so I figured I might as well give my sister the one I was using and upgrade to a fast processor/double RAM.

Haha, I like how he says he's "needy." I think the term is "gluttonous"
Yes, you could say that. I'm a packrat, I can tell you that. My iTunes Library is about 10 times larger than it should be, because a bunch of the songs have never even been played, but I can't bring myself to delete them. Such packrattery (?) leads to the purchase of purchasing further HD's, rather than cleaning the current ones. I just suck at most things is all. Efficiency fail.

Dude, there are grown people with full-time jobs that haven't accumulated the amount of stuff that you have. That's not bad at all for a 16 year old.
Thanks, I guess. I think really looking at that list, I've only really spent about $1500 in ~4 years (on that list in particular, which is most of my purchases). I base my "I don't have much" on the kind of people I go to school with, who are super-rich and have 4 or 5 MacBooks (of varying generations) just to themselves. That and all the "junior setups" I've seen on the web seem to be so much...better.

Don't worry about those people, man. Nobody who's not doing serious computer work for a living NEEDS 4 or 5 MacBooks. It would be one thing if they had a MacBook or two, and maybe a desktop or a server for gaming/storage/backups/etc. But 4 or 5 of basically the same laptop is quite pointless for someone in your age group.

Agreed. It's pointless.

Having a job and living at home is awesome

Yes it is indeed, I remember those days. I was working two jobs and living at home. Oh how I spent my money. It was during that time that I bought my MacBook, iPhone, and tons of other things. Of course, things are almost as nice now since I have a roommate and so the cost of living isn't really all that high. But I am a terrible shop-a-holic.

Ok now... So... might I dare ask what you need the massive monitor for, and how well it works...

Also.. what sort of resolution does it work at???

Thanks,
Jack

Well i use it for everything i do on my Macbook pro:). And it comes handy when i am producing in Logic. I also have a ps3 hooked on it and a TV receiver. It runs on Full HD that is 1920 x 1080.

Well, it's been over a year since I've posted pics of my setup.

It used to look like this in Jan. 2008

When I moved, back in February of this year - I finally finished the setup I've been wanting for a while.
