not-so happy switcher

Hey

Ubuntu doesn't know all the names, so I have to fill in the details: this is a powerbook G4 @1Ghz
1GB RAM
60GB HDD
a bluetooth dongle by Conceptronics for mobile internet access with any bluetooth phone (this was the last drop that made me give up using a laptop with windows xp)

with all the great things that I read about Macs and OS X, I didn't expect the Finder to be so clumsy... so here's a switcher that ends up dual booting OS X and Ubuntu Linux - that is, until I get Nautilus to run natively on OS X. :)

I also got a Powermac G4@400mhz which does a great job at serving files, printer and scanner, and a 3rd gen 15GB Ipod freshly formatted with FAT32 for easier file transfer accross my 3 computers.

i was really unhappy with the sound quality though and decided to upgrade to the harman/kardons. they are really amazing, i couldn't be happier with the quality of sound they produce. kinda prefer their design too, esp the sub hehe.

thanks for the suggestion mind, i do like stuff that matches

Better than the harman/kardons, are the bose, I have the companion 2 which were way better sound quality than the stick speaker (plus cheaper). Also will matcb the aluminium theme. The companion 3 are much better if you want to part with the cash.

Hi everyone,

I've been quietly watching this thread for a while. I thought I'd join in the fun. I'm in Los Alamos for the summer and this is my minimal summer setup.

17" iMac Core Duo 1.83GHz, 1.5GB, 160GB (17" is a little cramped)
Nintendo DS lite (amazingly fun!)
12oz Sapporo Beer (for the warm weather)

Heh. I have a DS Phat too, but that's mostly for other people to use :) I'm currently playing New Super Mario Bros. and Brain Training. Nintendo has always made great games, but finally they've made a slick handheld that doesn't look like a toy! It's almost on the level of an Apple design.

did you mean to have a crooked lamp shade hehe from the 70's lol
I didn't even notice! It looks pretty straight when I'm sitting down and looking up at it. ;)

Okay, I fixed the lampshade and cleaned my desktop. :D

I love it... so much better than the HK Stick... i was able to get it for $150 from CompUSA... they always have these on sale every other week and one week they had it for $150 at that price it was a must buy... i also have my ipod dock connected to it as well so i can play music through it and control it with the remote
