This is what happens when my sister got a hold of my PB model Hi-Res 1.67 last ever PB revision made

Missing all the feet from the bottom, bottom severely scratched, top case coming apart at the corners, the open button is broken and detached from case dent at dvi, dent at power connector, sound stuck on digital so the speakers don't work, chocolate in the speaker grills, dents near display apple logo, screens buggererd, when the back light comes on all the keys are half dark probably because of crap under the keyboard!
:(:(:(

Wish I had thought to keep photos, but I was sent to a major truck company's new IT site to inspect some apple laptops for possible damage. Yea, some one had run a forklift blade through a crate and skewered about 10 brand new MBP's. Oh god the horror.

The IT boss actually asked me if I thought they were fixable.

Suddenly, I feel lucky yet nervous. Especially for my iPod Touch. I keep it in the case you get when you buy the thing, though, so...

...My most damaged one is my G4 MDD. And even then, it's just the speaker being dumb - plug in some externals and you're set.

iMac G5 17". It was already damaged when I first came across it, but I believe it took a fall down some stairs. Front Bezel, LCD Panel, Rear Case and the Stand Clutch are all destroyed. However it still boots up. Hard drive still works as well. I'm keeping my eyes open for a G5 with a dud logic board so I can arrange to have it rebuilt.

I've also heard of an iBook that had caught fire and melted away most of the machine, a PowerBook G4 Aluminium that took a fall off the back of a truck and a friend of mine had a PowerBook G4 Aluminium that didn't have a straight piece of metal on it, was basically all dents.

Awesome. Keep an eye on craigslist.. In my area, there are all kinds of 'broken' Macs that people are selling for pretty cheap. You might find some too

Bicycle fall yesterday, due to a stupid car driver. My 2010 13 inch MBP was in my backpack. Just one small hit on the top left corner of the screen. All still working fine on the laptop, including the hinge and the screen which worried me.

I was less lucky than my MBP: scaphoid bone fracture. =(

It looks fine, but my late 2008 MBP has had the logic board replaced twice ($1700), battery cover replaced ($50), both fans replaced ($150), clutches ($80). Parts alone=$2000, all covered under warranty. Always buy AppleCare.

Part of it could be that it's the first version of the unibody MBPs.

Since the thread has been revived...make that a 3rd logic board in my MBP.

My only damaged Apple device (iPhone 2G 16GB):

Really bad picture but I wasn't able to capture it properly with my iPhone4. There's a small dent and some markings from the floor it fell on.

After being over-protective about it for 1,5y it slipped out of my hand one morning (and hit the stone floor of my apartment).. The corner near the sleep/wake button got hit, button itself still works fine though.

I've been careful (and lucky) with my Apple stuff, but my girlfriend used to carry her Powerbook around in her giant bag/purse without a protective sleeve. The corners that tended to be pointing downward got pretty banged up over time, but it's otherwise working fine.

I generally take very good care of my stuff, especially Apple stuff. However, I did once have my old Powermac G5 fall off my bed, bending the rear handle in a bit. I managed to get it mostly straightened out though and it wasn't really noticable (Hence the lack of picture). I was gutted for quite a while after for ruining my pristine Mac. Not to mention it broke the 9800Pro I'd just shelled out on a few weeks earlier.

Other than that, my iPod touch has a few small dots on the back even though it's been in a case since new, but that's to be expected and not really damage.
