My very first phone... I loved it to death, it was amazing... Ericsson T39 (sans Sony :p)

ericsson_t39_p3.jpg

Till just late last year, there was NO PHONE on the market that allowed me, on a full charge, have a 6hr:2min constant conversation on the phone! The Bold 9700 gets almost as close (5:20mins). I'm not talking rated spec's either, but REAL world talking!

What was amazing is that phone, the T-39m was amazingly thin even by today's standards!!

I owned that phone 3 times (dropped, stolen, sold as I got bored of greyscale screens). I actually wish SonyEricsson would remake a similar yet modern version of that phone.

For now the Bold 9700 is my bebe, my mistress and its incredible.

Just signed up with AT&T, canceling with Verizon tomorrow.

Got myself a HTC Pure, got a HTC Tilt2 for my Mom and a Sony Ericsson W518a for my Gramma. I love the phones so far..

Why are you leaving VZW? In anticipation for the new iPhone?

And why didnt you wait like 4-5 weeks for the new phone?

Meh, not really impressed with the iPhone tbh, More impressed with Android (HTC HD2 and EVO are looking nice).

Reason I left Verizon is because I'm fed up with their crappy service and horrible customer service. I dont get much reception with them, and just overall bad experience. Alltel was better. Plus the fact my Federal Universal Service Charge went up and according to the customer agreement, I can leave because of it, and now theyre saying I cant "because its not an increase in percentage", although it nowhere says in the customer agreement that it has to be a percentage increase. Im just sick of the lies with them. Already working on a formal complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General. AT&T is much better. If it wasnt a matter of time, I would have waited, but I only had 60 days to take action and my charge increased in April, so I'm short on time. I'm pretty happy with my HTC Pure though. It has Android support (via XDA Forums) and WinMo 6.5 isnt that bad once you disable TouchFlo 3D.

Also, on top of that, the phones I got with AT&T were free and didnt cost anything on part aside from the monthly bill, so its a pretty good trade off.

Same here, loving Android and currently using the HTC Incredible. AT&T service is decent where I live, but gets brought down to its knees at peak time. Drop calls and no internet connectivity even with full 3G. They did recently put up a few towers near where I live, but its still not enough backhaul to provide satisfactory service compared to VZW at least for me.

I do miss having a SIM phone though, especially when traveling internationally.
