Hi, i am actually trying to figure out the comparison in size between 17" and a 15". In your line up, is there a 15" and 17" or its just 17" and 20".
Not sure whether you are referring to the Macs or the displays, so I'll give you both.

The one in the center is the 20" Cinema Display and the two other acrylics are both 17" Studio Displays.

The Mac on the far right is my 17" PowerBook and out of frame but to the right of that is a 20" iMac G5.

I was reffering to to the cinema displays. As i was trying to determine the size difference between 15" and 17" and i remembered that u had a line up of it.

The one one left looked a little smaller than the one on the right, so i was wondering if that was the difference in the sizes. I knew that the one in the middle Must be 20" or more.

However, it seems that they both are 17". Thanks.

Ask @bunnspecial for a comparison

Gotcha. It's a matter of perspective with the picture. Both the same size.

Here's my PPC action as of now:

  • iMac G4. Bought it last week, so I'm definitely new to it! It's the 15", 1GHz 2003 model, with USB 2.0, and the seller had already maxed the RAM out at 2GB, so that requires no upgrading. Has been working great, it will be my main digital music player in my HiFi set, so the place where it is now, is only temporary. I still need to build the desk + cabinet for my HiFi and other audio stuff. The seller did a real poor job of packaging it, the edges of the monitor were touching the sides of the box, and the whole in the top (it was one of those banana boxes) was poorly taped up with clear sticky tape. The only protection was a paper towel roll under the LCD, and a weird plastic sheet. Mouse and keyboard were thrown in the box, loose. Yet it came out without the slightest scratch. PostNL must owe me something... Here it's playing some music over Spotify, as a 2011 version of it still works fine to this day.

  • iMac G3 Rev B. Bondi Blue. The classic. Bought it a while back, and am waiting to upgrade it a bit. Already put in a 256MB stick (although because I picked wrong RAM, it apparently only registers 128MB, oops) and a 80GB Maxtor HDD. It unfortunately has a jumpy image at random times (it distorts a horizontal line and makes the image jump back a bit for a second, then going back to normal), which might mean a failing FBT. Fun times... Any way, I'll probably use this for older music creation tools, to control some MIDI synths I'll be getting with.

  • Dead-as-a-doorstop iMac G3 Indigo 400MHz Summer 2000 model. All it does upon power up is pop the speakers a bit. No LED flash, no nothing. Tried the usual stuff, but didn't work. I'll actually check the caps on the down converter board first, to see if they are still alright, or if recapping it might solve the issue. Remember, a failed FBT could still allow a flashing LED! If that isn't the case, I'll see if I can crack it further open, discharge the CRT and recap the PAV board. I've read a thread about someone who had the same issue, and recapping the PAV board helped. After all, these machines come from the cap plague days, and the heat dissipation system used made heat slowly move past the PAV board. Great idea, Steve, but caps don't handle heat that well. Might add a silent Noctua fan if I can get it to boot.

I have an almost muscle car fascination with my Quad G5. I feel like I've basically brought her back from the dead with my LCS overhaul project so I like to try and find useful things for her to do in this day and age. Basically, right now, I employ her for light duty web browsing and primarily as a music scoring machine for my off duty film/video projects. I'm currently scoring some pieces for a film I'm editing. I find the G5 a nice companion to my work horse 12-Core 5,1 4k edit monster, even if I have to bring the garage band project over to the 5,1 for access to better software instruments. The dual machine allows me to easily playback and edit on the cMP and score easily on the G5 without losing track of what window I'm in.

I'll tell you what though, my recent acquisition of an iPad Pro and the updated iOS garage band has me really enjoying the tactile feel of the touch screen with the app. But sometimes, nothing beats an old fashion keyboard.

My latest grab: An PowerMac G4 MDD with Studio Display! It's a 1GHz single processor model, which I kind of hoped to be a DP, but regardless still a nice unit. It has the 64MB GeForce MX card (which will make way for a Radeon 9600 or 9800 variant, the Studio Display will be used on my Quicksilver, as will the MX card), original Deskstar HDD (which will make way for a 1TB hard drive connected to a SATA PCI card), and 1GB of DDR RAM (2x 256MB, 1x 512MB), which I will max out to 2GB in the future. The PSU fans are LOUD, so I might see if those are changeable to something more quiet but still effective. This unit will be my photo editing machine, but I'm still giving the QuickSilver an overhaul to become my audio editing machine, so this one has to wait. Fortunately, the sides, on a few tiny marks aside, are in really nice condition, so I'll probably let them be. I might still polish the handles, though. I really adore the way this looks. And I really need to start building my desk extension, these floor shots are getting annoying :p

Reorganized my desk and moved my iMac so it's more in the open. Shoved the Mac Pro in the hideout, but it's still usable. Makes it feel like i'm in a hovel.

Got a floppy drive attached and a zip drive to read older media. Right now as we speak, it's playing Streamhits 80's.
