That's one loud clock!View attachment 1946514
Thought it was time for yet another update. Mac Classic now on my desk, two new monitors to go with the new MacBook Pro... and the completed Lego Titanic on the shelf. QuickSilver happily sits a lot of the time running DVDs of Frasier as a screensaver.
[edit] If you have eagle eyes, you might find a PowerBook G4 hiding in this photo somewhere. It has a very head HDD at the moment, but have a replacement on order!
It’s a gentle, comforting hum! That's one loud clock!![]()
My setup has evolved a little since I first started working on my 800Mhz iMac
last year - the powerbook now also has an SSD, and sorbet leopard with the Leopard Rebirth scheme. I’ve also had a lot of fun adding a 32GB compact flash card and new battery to a silver gen 2 ipod mini I found going for just £11 on ebay a few days ago. Thanks to everyone on here for the ideas and inspiration, particularly to @z970 for sorbet!![]()
Congrats on your find!I found a boxed PowerMac G4 Cube with 22" Cinema Display (sadly no 23")
I know, that's why I want to swap the 22" to a 17" + 23" (the bigger one for my non working Cube project).Congrats on your find!If the Cube has the stock Rage 128 Pro it won’t run the 23” anyway.
Oh man, thanks for finding this out. I was thinking about trying some 1GB PC133s in the Six Dollar eMac but I was unsure of whether or not it would actually work. Two 512s it is, then.Got Sequoyah up and running, tried a 1GB PC133 DIMM for a Roland Fantom keyboard and it didn't even recognize the stick's existence. Thought I was being clever.
Doesn't have a hard drive installed, so I'm using the iBook in target disk mode as a boot medium for now, essentially turning this $3,499 computer into a laptop dock until I can get Oddball's hard drive and put that in there while waiting on a SATA card.
In the back you can see Kennedy and Benbridge.

...I'm sorry, what??? I have one of those cards, I got it 10 years ago for free from the electronics recycling place I used to work at in high school. The only thing wrong with it was a bad fan (it worked, but had a bad bearing so was horribly loud), which I swapped for some 10$ eBay fan that works fine. That's... vastly more than I thought it was worth.i picked mine up from usedmac. i think i paid with shipping is around $300USD (thats including shipping to Canada)

So jealous. So very jealous.Well I found this thread so I thought my latest addition will also fit in here.
I found a boxed PowerMac G4 Cube with 22" Cinema Display (sadly no 23") which is in pretty good condition. Only a few scratches and a noisy HDD. But it runs Mac OS 9.2
(On the pictures I forgot to add the speakers)
