I don't have any tattoos (yet) but I found this one in a tattoo magazine and thought it was really funny:

I had 3 of my friends get the Coors Light logo tattooed on their inner lip and it was completely gone in a couple months.

thats what i heard... i think that would be the coolest place for a tat when im older, as it doesnt get in the way of anything.. but for the pain i would at least want it to be permanent ;)

i heard the mouth ones wear off after about a year.. is that true?

No, i've had mine for over 2 years now. and it hasn't changed noticeably at all. I've had friends that had problems. but the ones that had problems either chewed tobacco, dipped, or drank alcohol before they were healed. I let mine heal like i was told to, and no problems to date.

I'm planning on getting a tattoo soon. Someone told me that some tattoo colors don't "stick" to the skin very well and fade quicker. Is that true?

if you heal your tattoo properly, you shouldnt have any trouble keeping the color. of course its going to fade a bit, but it wont fade terribly.

Keeping it away from the sun is important too! Make sure you put sunblock on it when you go out, if exposed... and sunny.

I guess that was the problem with my friends' tattoos then. They drink alcohol like fish drink water.

The ink is injected under the skin, so anything that increases circulation will cause the tat to "fade" or "smear." It's very important to stay out of the sun while it is healing. After that, sunbathing, drinking alcohol, even frequent massages can all cause the tat to age more quickly because all of these activities increase blood flow to the skin surface. This should also give you an idea of what areas of your body would be more likely to fade faster. :)

I have both my wrists done. For me it wasn't painful at all. A little weird went it went over the tendons as my fingers were twitching ever so slightly.

While this be on the inner or outer wrist? The wrist is a good place however it is worth considering the times you might need to cover it up.

Ok, thanks for the info. :)

Aye it'd be on the inside of my wrist, oh god i bet that felt weird haha.

My 4th one.

Had it done on November 4th by Capt. Bret in Newport RI. Picture was taken about an hour after he'd finished it.

Quite a funny google based story to go with it.

When I decided I wanted a Haida Orca, I googled it and the first place that came out was Bret's tattoo shop in Newport, RI. Nothing special there apart from that very day we'd booked our flights to America to visit our friends in Newport RI.

" the sound that strengthens compassion to all enlightened beings"

second is another writting in tibetan done at venice beach which means

"unshakable faith"

the one on my chest is a Lotus Flower and the sign inside is the sign of power

the one on my back = Semper Fidelis Marine Corps Motto and also means "Always Faithful

Im seriusly thinkin of gettin a tattoo, I love the typo of the tibetan one, do you got any info about the tatoo or its influences...

I got "Mother" on my left wrist and "Father" on my right wrist. They were the first and only tattoos I got. Hurt a bit, took a lil break after I got Mother done.

My advice would be to make sure you have something to eat or drink before you get your tattoo. I got mine done at 11am, woke up at 9:30am, had a shower etc etc went straight to the tattoo parlour without having breakfast. Once I got Mother done the tattoo artist said that i was looking a bit light headed, he asked me if I had eaten anything or had anything to drink, i said no so he gave me a can of coke. Once he started the Father tat I couldn't really feel anything and it hurt a lot less then the Mother one.

So yh to sum up it doesn't really hurt that much that you want to start screaming and crying, its the kinda pain that you just gotta accept...no one wants to leave a tattoo parlour with half a tattoo done ;)

I don't have a tat, and i'm not sure if I want one. If I get one it'd be personal. I was thinking of having someone design a phoenix, and having "rise from the ashes" written in latin under it.

I think it'd be personal and really meaningful. A reminded that whenever we fall we can rise again and be a new/better person for the experience.

One problem with me getting a tattoo is that I'm a nursing student. Until it's healed it isn't considered sanitary, and if it's visible I'd have a really hard time getting a job after I graduate.

My boyfriend has 5 tats. Gemini symbol (looks kinda roman in design - hard to explain) the Welsh dragon on his upper arm, a dragon on his other upper arm, a tribal dragon on his lower leg, and a Maple leaf on his shoulder blade (red, outlined in black (the black part looks kinda like cracked rock). Looks good.

Who would have thought that tats are habit forming?
They say it, but I didn't believe it until I got my first.

J
