iPod touch Post Your UK order Status for iPod Touch....

Argos had stock earlier this evening, I have confirmed Friday delivery both by email and telephoned customer services.

Apple seemed to have moved alot of UK pre orders to later.
Mine was 1st oct now moved to 5th oct!! no engraving and I ordered on 5th 😡

This is to fix the screen problems... I don't know if that's true or not, but I hope it is... I'd rather wait a couple of more days than get a bad unit and having to wait longer to send it back and wait for another.

But mine hasn't changed yet... order on 13th September still 01-02 October
 
Might be worth checking with Argos and other retailers, I read somone from the Apple support that they would be in most retail stores by this weekend! Yay 🙂 I'm checking my local Comet tommorow, sleep first!

I will admit that Apple are not treating their first customers very well from the sounds of it!

I would cancel mine and just pick one up locally (do John Lewis have them yet?) but I ordered it with an iMac on the “Back to school” offer so I guess its worth waiting to save that extra £85,

Thinking about it, if you cancel and buy elsewhere sooner, you might get one of the bad screens already sent out before Apple can do anything. At least we know apple are delaying them, possibly so no bad ones are sent out, so im going to hold out that little longer.

i think ive read it on another website forum somwhere that the apple store near liverpool street station in london has the ipod touch instore to look at and test before buying?

It's a race between me giving up on a dream and cancelling the thing (because of the screen issues), and them actually shipping it.

Yes that's a slip from the 01 - 02 Oct it said before, though curiously the shipping date has stayed the same, maybe it's fixed rather than variable.

Don't know what to do, I'm hoping the delay is so that they can fix the screen issues or is that wishful thinking?

I don't mind if it's dodgy if they'll be willing to replace it later, but I have this feeling they'll deny all knowledge, call BS and refuse to do anything. Would love to hear a statement from The Steve.

Scratch that, just checked mine tonight and it now reads 10 Oct, 2007 - 11 Oct, 2007..... its starting to become a joke now, the only up side is if they keep pushing it back I might qualify for leopard for free (if they do that for people who bought after its release dates confirmed).

Was down the Apple Reagent St store this afternoon - they had a delivery of a batch today - ALL were sold out by 2pm. So some stores are getting them - and obviously selling them.
 
Mine still says 04-05 OCT so hopefully it doesn't slip to the 8th or 9th like Stetwin...I don't see why it should if stores are getting them. If it does I have the right mind to e-mail Apple and ask them why the online store is getting them later as it doesn't seem to make alot of sense...I guess if I get a good screen then it'll be worth the wait

If any of you live around Apple stores it's definitely worth calling them and asking. I just happened to be in one when I heard somebody ask if they had one (this was 3 days ago, I thought the person was being a bit optimistic seeing as I though they'd be out on the 28th!) and they said they did. So I asked for one too!
 
I've just got back from the new Touchwood store in Solihull and they had loads of both models in stock.

They were selling very well and I'm not surprised after having a go on one, it's certainly an impressive player. If only they made one with a decent capacity 🙂
 
i reccommend people cancel their order and get one from an apple shop. just reserve one. the people in the apple bullring in birmingham say they come in regularly like every 1-2 days!!!! reserve them!!!!!!! getting mine tomorrow or next.

Thats not practical for many people, I live 2 hours away from my nearest one.
Still alot of the early pre orders were changed to 'Prepared for shipping' today 🙂
