Got both programs now. Really need to let my USB drive cool downBoth can be found on the Macintosh Garden site.
Ummmm, which one?Got both programs now. Really need to let my USB drive cool down
Aladdin Expander.Ummmm, which one?
Tiger‘s Classic kinda sucks for playing games. So Classic is semi-broken.
You already have a native OS 9 installation — the one you’ve been using for Classic. Try booting that.Perhaps if I can install OS 9 native.
I thought I had just installed the bare minimum to get Classic goingYou already have a native OS 9 installation — the one you’ve been using for Classic. Try booting that.
Yeah, it is bare minimum. Won't boot. Still, is a separate OS 9 partition a good idea?I thought I had just installed the bare minimum to get Classic going
Interesting. I thought it was a full install. Maybe the System Folder needs to be blessed?Yeah, it is bare minimum. Won't boot.
Yes, because the OS X partition will be unaffected if anything happens to it. Did you select Install Mac OS 9 drivers when setting up the HDD? (If you didn’t, 9 won’t see the partitions.)Still, is a separate OS 9 partition a good idea?
Nothing. Now let me be clear: I mean splitting my OS X partition into 2: one for 9 and one for 10.4Interesting. I thought it was a full install.

Tiger‘s Disk Utility can’t split existing partitions (Leopard’s can, so can iPartition on Tiger). Yes, I hear youI mean splitting my OS X partition into 2: one for 9 and one for 10.4
What if I ran the installer within 10.4?Tiger‘s Disk Utility can’t split existing partitions (Leopard’s can, so can iPartition on Tiger). Yes, I hear you
Even if that worked (no idea if it does), it would end up installing OS 9 on the same partiton as Tiger. What if I ran the installer within 10.4?
Oof, and that sounds like a recipe for file corruption.Even if that worked (no idea if it does), it would end up installing OS 9 on the same partiton as Tiger.
The two OSes are able to coexist on the same partition, and PPC Macs that also came with 9 were set up that way, which is why 9's app folder is namedOof, and that sounds like a recipe for file corruption.
Applications (Mac OS 9)
in that case.Whoa. So...The two OSes are able to coexist on the same partition, and PPC Macs that also came with 9 were set up that way, which is why 9's app folder is namedApplications (Mac OS 9)
in that case.
