No, he's going to have his SIM card on the 22nd, which blows, as he ordered on the 1st day it was available on Premier.
It's funny, because many Premier members are professionals, executives and other so called important people who work in government, major corporations, etc.
And yet, a bunch of bubble gum chewing kids will get their iphones before us.
Bravo AT&T, Bravo.
I ordered Jun 12th, around 3pm CST and mine still is 'in progress'. Nothing is listed as backordered and I don't know if it ever was (because I couldn't find the order for a while).
However, I'm hoping I get a shipping notice today. Since they seem to be coming from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, I hope I still get mine tomorrow (I live in the area).

Hey Everyone,
I upgraded through the premier site at 9AM on Friday June 12th. Like everyone else, I've been anxiously monitoring progress (or lack thereof!)
I spoke to an ATT business rep yesterday and she said that her 'systems' were showing an order date of 6/16/09 (which is BS since I inputted my order on 6/12.) She also said I wouldn't receive my 32gb iphone 3GS for 7-14 days. I was pissed when she told me that and almost told her to cancel the order.
I just checked my status online (https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/) and it shows that my order went from 'backordered' to 'shipped' WITH a fedex tracking number! It says I should receive the item on Monday (since I never upgraded the shipping method to overnight.)
Just thought I'd share this info.

This morning the status for my order for a 32GB black iPhone 3GS changed from not backordered, and later this morning it shows "shipped" in the qty and status columns for the phone, sim, and "freight". No tracking # yet. My account also now shows the 2nd line's phone number. I ordered on the Premier site. The Premier status page still says the unchanging message about "processing shortly". (Why do they even bother with that system, it's useless!)
Assuming all the news here is true from AT&T's facebook wall, the reports from the order page, etc., they will have shipped overnight and we'll be getting them tomorrow after all. I'll edit when I get more info.
UPDATE: The order status changed again (using the non-premier order status page) and now shows shipped with a FedEx tracking number. It's scheduled to arrive Monday, the 22nd. Not sure from where - it shows only "data transmitted to FedEx" which happened sometime this morning. It was shipped FedEx 2-Day. (Why not overnight, AT&T, come on. )
And yes, the premier status page still shows the same "processing" message from day 1!

You would think Premier means that ATT would be professional and ship it out overnight anyway...
My order just shipped! I think I'm probably one of the last people that ordered on the 9th to get their shipping confirmation, but at least I did get one. Unfortunately...no iPhone until the 22nd.
Apparently AT&T feels they lose enough money with Premier customers that they don't have to do this.
AT&T sucks.
shipped from ft worth texas facility. that's where. also finally received an update email from premier. stating something being backordered, partial shipment, and how to activate.
Uh oh. Mine says the same thing. As soon as we think we are in the clear, we get stomped on! lol

I'm amazed that AT&T bows to pressure over early upgrades and knocks the price of phones down for people by as much as $200 and yet they go ahead and ship out their Premier customers phones 2nd day so that they get them 3 days after everyone else.
I plan on unloading a bucket of hate on these *******s.
