One factor not mentioned yet is the choice of color. My wife expects to upgrade from her Xs Max before too terribly long. The camera is the only significant feature difference, really, between the 15 Plus and Pro Max — and it’s not like the Plus has a bad camera! But … she doesn’t care much for any of this year’s colors, with the Pro colors the least appealing.

I expect she’ll go for the Plus, but I won’t be shocked if she goes for the Pro after having a chance to play with both in the store. And I honestly can’t recommend the one over the other in either direction.

I don’t expect I’ll be upgrading from my 13 mini any time soon, but, if I had to, I expect I’d probably go for the Pro. The Pro colors are okay for me, and, all else therefore equal, the camera would tip my decision. But I definitely wouldn’t make any decision until after playing with both in the store.

I officially have one of each ready for pre-order, so I'm getting closer. All I have to do now is decide which one, and then delete the other.

So actually, not really any closer to deciding. LOL
Max will be 15 grams heavier than your 14 pro which I have too, I had the 13 max before. If you don't go max I would just hang onto the 14 pro till next year. If it's a eye issue get some glasses which you probs need anyway ;)
The others are a downgrade.

I already have glasses, but I just want to be able to increase my text size and not wind up with one sentence on the screen - lol.

Also, I want a bigger keyboard for typing.

But yeah, pretty set on the pro max, and hopefully gonna make it at least a 2year phone.

ok yeah the max is better to type on, my wife has the 12 max and has never complained once, goes in her handbag though, she uses a nomad brown leather folio and loves it, has had 2 and wouldn't use anything else.

Nice. 15 PM it is. You will be happy. Enjoy.

Going to the 15 Plus, you wouldn’t have:

-ProMotion
-Action Button
-A17 Pro chip
-Camera system similar to your current 14 Pro
-No 5x zoom
-8GB RAM

The 15 Pro Max would weight slightly more than your 14 Pro, and the 15 Plus would weigh slightly less.

Are you planning to get a Vision Pro? Taking spatial photos/videos can only be done on the Pro models.

What storage would you get? If 256GB, the difference would be only $200 between the models.

The fact that you can get a new phone annually should tell you to count your blessings. Getting a new iPhone used to mean dropping a few hundred dollars.... now it is like $1000. Unless you've worked one of those annual upgrade plans into your monthly budget.

I thought I got a steal last year trading in my 11 Pro Max for $1000 in billing credits with AT&T, making the 14 Pro Max only $200 over 36 months with bill credits. They are offering the same for 11 Pro Max trade-in this year (and I assumed you would have to trade-in a 12 Pro max to get that offer this year). But, since I upgraded last year it would cost me to payoff the 14 Pro Max for like $800, trade it in for $1000, and then pay $200 over 36 months.... So it would be a $1000 upgrade this year (before AppleCare+). Last year's steal of a deal is this year's hefty price tag. I guess what AT&T is really paying me for is 3 more years of continued service since the bill credits cease if you pay off the phone.
Yep, the real benefit to carriers is you locked in for that long.

I usually keep my phone for 2-3 years. That means when I upgrade, I want the very best so in my third year of usage it’ll still be a very good phone. 15 PM for me, in titanium blue. Cannot wait!

Not planning to get a Vision Pro - certainly not anytime soon, if ever, so that really wasn’t a factor. Also the 128 on the 15+ would have been sufficient, so it’s definitely a $300 difference, but the pro max is in my cart ready to go for tomorrow morning. If I want to go to upgrading every couple years instead of every year, I figure I may as well start off with the max amount of features so I don’t find myself wanting to upgrade to get them next year.

You can always sell the device and pay it off I would assume. I’ve never done the trade-ins so I don’t know that for sure. Of course you don’t really get any value for your trade-in device when you do that.

I had a 14 plus for a little while, then returned it, because I didn’t want to regret not getting the pro max, similar to the op. I did feel a big difference in the weight compared to the pro max. It was really nice. If weight and price is your main consideration I would say get the plus. If camera is your main consideration get the pro max.

i tried T-Mobile and Verizon where I live, and AT&T is just better. But voice quality on all carriers has degraded since 5G. Facetime Audio calls are often better than straight voice calls.

but I have been with AT&T since 1999 when they were Cingular Wireless out here. No plans on switching carriers other than an occasional dual SIM test drive so I decided to start taking advantage of the trade-in deals instead of buying my iPhones in cash.

I remember Cingular! I was actually with Cellular One before Cingular bought them out, then merged with ATT. I’ve had the same cell number since I got my first cell phone in 1995. Our ATT service where we are actually used to be much better. It has gotten worse over the last few years. I keep hoping for some new towers out here, and maybe they’ll address it eventually, but I don’t think there are enough of us in the area for them to care.

Had 11 Pro Max for 3 years
Sold last year for a 13 Mini
Ordered a 15 Pro today

The reason is mainly for the action button, video out and ability to shoot video directly to an external drive. I have recently started shooting YouTube videos and the new pro features will be handy.

I sucker up for a 15 Pro Max. Was seriously considering a 15 Plus.

LOL I was too - more like tormenting myself over it. Okay not really, but still - definitely obsessed over the decision a bit too much.

In the end I realized the ONLY thing really drawing me to the plus was the lighter weight. With the pro max, there are several features I feel I’d definitely miss/regret not having.
