I just checked again to be absolutely certain, and yes...Every app that I close from within Kirikae closes and sends me back to the springboard. The only exceptions are Safari, Phone, and Mail. I wish it worked for me like it does for you. I'd then have no need for ProSwitcher.

Update to the newest version and that problem is fixed.

Battery drainage

Does anyone see battery drainage increase while using proswitcher, with just Phone and Mail running in the background.

scirica, khanyl: you should write to Lance Fetters (you can find his email on the Kirikae page in Cydia) and tell him you're having that issue. It is certainly not the expected behavior, and it is not how it behaves on my phone. Sounds like a bug he might want to fix. He's been really responsive to my emails.

I correspond quite frequently with Lance. We are on it.

How do I Disable Swipe Activation Methods?

I love proswitcher! ...

I upgraded to 1.0 and now i can't disable swipe activation method. It's interfering with SBSettings.

How can i reset the preferences? I have iFile, but i don't know what file to delete.

I uninstalled proswitcher and reinstalled it and i'm still having the same issue.
I can't find the old beta version either.

Does anyone have a solution?

There were some things that I could no longer do in the new version, so I reinstalled 0.8 via .deb file, made changes then upgraded back to 1.0. DM me and I will give you a link to a place to grab that file. I tried editing the libactivator plist but it didn't do everything I needed.

I agree. If that is the only thing he needs he'll be fine. But there are other things missing in 1.0 that were toggles and are no longer there, hence no way to change. In my case it was being able to not show cards for the natively backgrounded apps (mail, phone).

Just trying to be of service.

do i still need backgrounder

Do i need backgrounder anymore. it seems to use the same badge icon when things are running in the background. Not sure if they work together or something. I have my backgrounder set for just holding down the home button and it sets the app to background but that app also shows up in my proswitcher window. Kind of just another way of utilizing the proswitcher. Great app by the way really like it.

When I restart the phone, is there a reason why the phone app is automaticly loaded in proswitcher??

ProSwitcher uses backgrounder to actually run the tasks in the background. It won't work without backgrounder installed. You don't need to have a separate command for backgrounder if you don't want to, though; you can background the current task just by opening proswitcher and touching a blank place on the bottom 1/4 of the screen. You can go into backgrounder settings and choose Control > None to disable the backgrounder control (this setting was added for those using an external app for backgrounding).

Good to know, Thanks!

okay so if you didn't have backgrounder then it would have probably installed it for you i assume.

Yes, because the Phone app, Mail app, iPod app and Safari app are native background apps, so they're also displayed by ProSwitcher.

thought so, just weird that "phone" is always displayed when i reboot the iPhone, but iPod,mail, sms, safari are not in proswitcher right after the reboot

SMS would be part of the phone app, I think. I've never seen it run at startup.

No, backgrounder is not a dependency of ProSwitcher. You can install it and use it only with the natively-backgrounded apps if you want.

The phone app is always started when your phone boots up. Mail is only started if you have push enabled since it handles the push email. The other native apps are only started at first use. Safari is kept open once it is opened unless you close all tabs. iPod seems to be kept open once opened unless closed due to low memory. I don't think MMS is ever backgrounded.

A note: the only reason Phone is kept open is to speed loading. You will still receive incoming calls if it is closed, since commcenter handles incoming calls. Push email requires that Mail be open.
