So far its been working as it should. I too am keeping Spark for a while just to be sure it doesn't come back. And my ticket w/Apple remains open. I told them until I get a few days at 100% its not fixed.

It's hard to know exactly when it failed. I got a pop-up notification of an email that was time-stamped 45 mins before and then when I went into Mail app to read it, another email popped up as new that was time-stamped an hour and a half before that. Both emails were to my icloud account. FWIW, my support ticket is still open.
Use your third party to find the time stamp of emails....that don't push

Someone just posted this on Apple Communities

I spoke to an apple advisor today who said the engineers changed some provisions on their end and the issue should be fixed.

Hope its true.

I had, prematurely, removed my third party EMAIL app. It's back on now. Push seems to be working again though as of a few mins ago.

Maybe it was just a hiccup. Let's see how it holds up again.

Unfortunately, not for me. The problem is exactly the same as it has been for weeks.

Did anyone notice that the battery seems to be draining faster?
Now you mention it, yes! I thought this yesterday but didn't link it with anything.

I just noticed it. Also if you look in settings under battery, mail is showing background activity. Wonder what they did?

Glad it's working for some, def not for me. If this is truly a server issue this begs the question, why isn't everyone affected and, just as puzzling, why isn't this fixed for everyone at once?

FYI,

I also updated via itunes as the dude on apple discussions mentioned. Push appears to be working.....appears, for now.

Maybe reconnection to the "fixed" server is required? Yes, im spitballing:)

Sorry I haven't been following the Apple discussions you mention, can you elaborate on what you mean by update via iTunes?

The rep from AppleCare told me to reset network settings. I can't understand why issues like this never make it to the 'techs' answering the phones. It's quite ridiculous. I expected better from Apple. My mistake.

Push seems to be working today though.

I just turned push on, had it set to manual for this whole time... Seems to be working so far, but we'll see how it holds up. I'm actually getting emails on the stock mail app faster than I am on spark for once.

I'm not even seeing push being fixed yet
The discussion input was to update your device by via iTunes instead of over the air.
Plug in to iTunes, hard reboot but don't release when Apple shows....wait for the connect to iTunes shows on iOS device screen. There will be be an option to update the device....don't restore. Update saves data, restore cleans it all. Google the restore setup. Restore network settings is also a good idea before anything else.

Not sure why a rep would suggest updating via iTunes. And update what? If your software is up to date then there is nothing to update.

My rep told me to reset networking settings as well, didn't do it but push is still working for me. 24 hours now.

If Apple can push a notification via the APNS when a new email comes in which forces the mail app to establish a IMAP connection and download the mail, I'm pretty sure it can't be hard to do the opposite.

If it gets read on a different device, a push should be sent to depreciate the badge count and in then background an IMAP connection established so that it can it be marked a read

Wasn't a rep...just a forum contributor.
[doublepost=1478332631][/doublepost]Regardless, we gotta help ATC out.

ATC - let me make a suggestion to try. Just before the Apple provisioning fix I was not getting messages pushed correctly (no sound/banner when asleep) so I went into settings and turned off messages. I restarted my iPhone and enabled messages again. This forced a login to Apple's servers and it fixed my problem. Then after Apple did their fix I have been solid for 24 hours.

I tried as much as I can for not being home and close to a computer (reset network settings, turned off messages, iCloud email, email push, rebooted phone multiple times, re-enabled everything) - Push is still very intermittent.

Once I'm back home I'll have to try the iTunes update. Can't think of anything else to try.

Got another email from T2, saying engineers have fixed the server issue. They changed provisions. I can honestly say for the last 48 hours I have not missed an email.
