I can receive but I can't send or delete. I guess google's still struggling. I do see that the 28 day restriction seems to have been fixed (maybe I'm just behind the times)

Mine isn't working. I thought it was just me but THANK GOD for MacRumors!

I don't believe it's you bro, I think Google is having some problems as I'm not able to access my mail via Google Push (m.google.com or Google Sync) Hopefully it'll be up in a few days or possibly a few hours.

i went from getting only 3 weeks downloaded to getting 1 message from the end of july and 1 from the beginning of june, thats all. What a joke

I get this random issue where I open an unread email and it will stall. Then when I return to my inbox it will loose all my email and start re-syncing again....

Rather annoying!

So is there some ongoing tech issues with GMail and 'Active Sync' then?

I too have had problems, had a nice full day of 'Pushed' messages through the standard iPhone Mail App and now nothing :(

Everything's working great now. i love getting a notification immediately (well almost immediately). I just sent an email to myself from my work email to gmail. took 18 seconds to come through and give me a badge on my email icon. not too shabby

Not sure if anyone else noticed this yet, but the whole inbox is showing up. Not just the last 28 days.

Now all they have to do is send items to the trash when you delete them. :D

Is anyone else still having this issue? i am :(

Care to elaborate?

Why is that your opinion?

Note: I am not asking to be a %^&*, I am genuinely interested in your opinion on it.

Thanks..

Many people prefer to have all their emails accessible as is impossible at the moment with the Google Sync solution. Also a lot of people like getting the popups with the email notification.

Personally... I don't even want my Gmail to be pushed. Haha. I don't need to be bothered that much when people email me. I have a Ymail account and my Gmail forwards anything with URGENT or ASAP or such keywords, to my Ymail for immediate attention. :D

no issues here, gmail has been pushing away all morning just fine. The gpushapp is pretty nice though and a great alternative if you can't get push to work for you.

I use Pushmail and swear by its features and new update just made it even better, my reasons against Google sync:

1. Its still in beta, so the service can be up and down (which it is).
2. You can only use one Google/Exchange account (https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/8585250/)
3. Battery drain is remarkable
4. You can't check sent mail not from your phone.
5. Emails only go as far back as whatever many days (still doesn't do all). If your looking for that old email..not gonna happen. (No point pushing old labels as old saved mails will not be pushed)
6. You don't get pop ups.
7. Its not reliable!

Let me assure you no power user will be using it :D

PushMail looks great, but man, I am too paranoid to use it.

I mean, forwarding all of my emails to some dummy email account?

Oy..

I just can't do it.

Would you rather give out your username and password to other apps? now that would worry me. Your email is deleted of his server as soon as you receive the push (link). The guy who developed pushmail is really nice and I trust him :).

I've been using google sync and I'd like to respond to your "points."

1. Service has been rock solid for me.
2. One is all I need.
3. I'd say negligible. I really see no difference on my 3g.
4. Not true, I just did it.
5. You can search the server.
6. Caveat of Apple's system
7. Again, completely disagree. Solid as any non "beta" service I've used.

Really? What's your trick? You seem to be one of the few that it's actually "solid" for. There are "is gmail sync down?" threads started every few minutes here:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/label?lid=0e60c4163ac60d44&hl=en

Empty mailboxes and "could not connect to server" is a 3-4 time a day thing for me lately. So today, I opted to go back to IMAP + gpush which IS rock solid stable.

I need my email when I need it, not when the server is ready to give it to me.

It will be nice to have native gmail push, but it's just not ready for prime time, yet.
