iPhone Pwnage Guide: PwnageTool/QuickPwn/WinPwn: Unlock and Jailbreak iPhone/3G

No but be careful what you update when you run cyndia. It bricked my phone when i allowed it to update what it wanted to update.
 
Trying to unlock a previously unlocked Iphone that I inadvertently messed up by downloading 3.0. I restored the phone and finally got it to show up as a device in itunes but I think i need to downgrade to 2.2.1 before I can try to unlock it ? Anyone kow if that's right or how to do it?

Check the dev team's website, they released a 3.0 jail break and unlock. :)

It is confusing information.

It would be nice if someone who has the latest firmware/bootloader/etc. for the 3G (not S) and has managed to unlock their iPhone would post and let us know. :eek:
 
I'm confused. Has the dev team replaced quickpwn with redsn0w? I want to jailbreak my 3G running 3.0, but I'm not familiar with redsn0w and feel more comfortable w/quickpwn.

Anybody know for sure? :confused:

2.Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using redsn0w or PwnageTool (this will also install Cydia/Icy)
3.Run Cydia or Icy
4.Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or Icy. That last “o” is actually the number zero “0”! If you use the letter “o” you’ll get an error.
5.Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
6.Reboot your iPhone 3G
7.T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
8.Enjoy

I get no carrier after pwning 3.0 on my 3g

Following these steps will result in an unlocked 3.0 3G, correct?
