I would hope it aint just that.. for your sake!
It would be nice if we could speak to a member of the Dev team about this... It just seems really odd that it is working on most, but not on others!!

Interesting it 'just' started working though....

Some apps do that and it generally means they've been finished in a hurry.

Bah, I wish this app was open source: I wouldn't mind having a look at Pwnage's code.

lol, so I closed it after it built my ipsw

tried to relaunch just to check if it would work again.
I get the bouncing pineapple again.
oh, well, I got what I needed.

Well dang I am having the same issue.. I have a dead phone because the app is tempermental?? lol.. that sucks!

This is what is gives me when I inspect the process in activity monitor...

Code:
/
/Users/mbeck/Desktop/PwnageTool.app/Contents/MacOS/PwnageTool
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MediaKit.framework/Versions/A/MediaKit
/Users/mbeck/Desktop/PwnageTool.app/Contents/Frameworks/Sparkle.framework/Versions/A/Sparkle

count=0, state=0
count=0, state=0x2

does that help any?

I get this in the console..

Code:
7/20/08 1:31:35 AM com.apple.launchd[2386] (0x10c5e0.Locum[2899]) Exited: Terminated

boo hoo.. I am sad!

I had the bouncing icon problem too but I solved it pretty quickly.

Have you tried simply restarting the computer?

The other thing you should do is check /username/Library/ITunes/Device Support and /IPhone Software Update. Make sure those directories exist, and that they are empty--if there's something in there delete them.

Then the other thing you should do is simply reboot your computer. I had the bouncing icon issue until I did those steps and I simply rebooted my system after that. That solved it.

I'm on a Ibook G4 for the record.

Done all that and no dice
Looks like the waiting game contiunes

I got tired of waiting.. so.. I followed the guide for windows users that is floating around.. and it worked! I didn't even have to use windows! :) I just used iTunes on my mac and it worked like a charm!

Finally got it to work..

I downloaded Cocktail http://www.maintain.se/cocktail/index.php and ran it. I chose Pilot. Clicked on options and under Caches :
1 - System - chose all options
2 - User - chose all options for single user
3 - Internet - left it all unchecked

Left everything else default and ran it. Took a good 20 minutes... Rebooted.

Ran pwnagetool and lo and behold, it came right up! :)

Hope this helps others..

You are amazin'
Thanks for that.

I got an incessant "1600" error with my ipsw last night, so I had to rebuild, and the program wasn't starting up, so I left it for the night.
I tried your method this morning, and yup - that got it to run.

everything went smoothly, my iphone is now pwnd, no issues (that I know of :p). Hooray.

There is now a fix with pwnagetool 2.0.1 for the "bouncing icon"

See the pwnage FAQ with download links...
