Done it with my iPhone 2G = Easy...
Can't say that i am that impressed so far with 3.0 though..

Seems to be a little more stable for me, and things run more smoothly. Of course there's also landscape texting...finally.

Alright I'm having an issue here. I've downloaded the ipsw from apple for my 1g iPhone

http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...090617.XsP76/iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

I've run it thru pwnage tool using simple settings.

Now I set the iPhone into restore mode (hold home, turn on, continue holding home till iTunes icon).

Open iTunes, plug in iPhone, hit option + restore, select custom firmware and done.

Except while restoring the custom firmware I get an 1604 error. Any ideas?

I've been doing this all day, and still getting the error. Mine is 1600, though. But I don't think it makes a difference. What can I do? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm following everything people are saying to do, but nothing has worked yet.

I used redsn0w and it worked finally.

but hey, with t mobile- how can I get my contacts off my sim card?

I was excited for this and over the weekend horrified at the effects of just putting a % indicator on my battery. It can't even last a full day now.
