Also, tell me if I'm crazy to have three blood pressure monitors that I use everyday -- all of them. My husband thinks so. LOL LOL.

Hey, I fully understand about having a broad range of tools. :)

The Qardio was the first blood pressure monitor I found that I actually used.

I've ordered the Omron Evolve bluetooth monitor from Amazon. I'm pretty skeptical but hope springs . . . .

AH! I too have looked at the Omron Evolve but I moved away from it. I haven't used it but Omron is a well-reputed company so I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

I only shied away from it because it's a bit bulky. I wanted a really compact upper arm monitor (which the Qardio and Wtihings BPM Connect are). My wrist monitor is an Omron and uses the Omron Connect app which probably is the sam app your Evolve will use. I think those monitors will work even if the app doesn't work, so no problems there!

Good luck!

iTunes used to be able to do this but I’m not sure now. Here’s an excerpt from iMazing.
———
Download and install iMazing connect the source device and from the right pane select Manage Apps > Library (top left toggle) > select the old app > Download to Library ...
Then connect the target device select Manage Apps > Library > Install ... and you're done.
All this is free, no registration or purchase necessary.
More details here: https://imazing.com/guides/how-to-manage-apps-without-itunes
———

For Qardio, you don’t have to worry about accidentally updating it and lose functionality because it’s gone from the App Store. But others apps that still exist on the App Store but may have features removed in an update, make sure you refrain from updating those particular apps.

Can you use someone else’s app? Maybe.
This iMazing solution worked like magic and I was able to restore the Qardio app on my iPhone 16 pro max. I even received link from hello@qardio.com to access my account due to forgotten password. My only concern now is whether iMazing kept my phone data on their server or not 😁 Thank you so much.

I am really glad to hear that the iMazing solution worked for you!

I've downloaded the Qardio app to my local hard drive and when I upgrade my phone, hopefully that downloaded file will work.

BTW, I don't think iMazing has anything to do with your data. I don't think your data is processed over the internet by them, at all. Am I wrong?

I have the Qardio app on my iPhone 12 Pro and the app is used to control a blood pressure monitor. From what I can tell through internet research and emailing the company to no avail, the company is gone (bankrupt??) and for some reason the Qardio app is also gone. I thought just because a developer leaves/disappears etc. doesn't mean an app would have to go away. But, the app is indeed gone.

I make backups of my iPhone 12 Pro where the Qardio app resides. When I upgrade my phone how will I ever get the Qardio app on the new phone? I imagine the backup does not backup apps, but only personal data because the assumption is the App Store will forever hold the latest version of apps?

Does anyone have insight?

With this app, the blood pressure monitor cannot work at all. This blood pressure monitor has no physical buttons and has not display of its own. The app on the phone is used to activate the monitor which then takes the readings and then returns the readings to the app for display and storage.
SOLVED! I just now was able to download the app to my new iPhone, here: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/qardio-heart-health/id855275752

Not sure why I cannot find it searching the App Store, but google led me here (also in the App Store), and it works! I logged in and it synced with all my previous scans. I also can't find anything about them going out of business, maybe they just released a new version of their app and/or are having issues with the App Store search?

FYI: looks like Qardio's domain expires in two days, so all this work might be for naught going forward if they are out of business like some suspect. So get your data while you can.

You know what's weird? I just searched for "Qardio" on the App store on my iPhone and as expected, the Qardio app didn't turn up. But, somewhere in the middle of the list was posted "QardioDirect" which is a remote patient monitoring tool. I don't remember seeing this before.

So I clicked into QardioDirect, then within the app page, you can click the developer Qardio to see what other apps they have created. And guess what? The app "Qardio heart health" pops up. I don't remember it being called "Qardio heart health" but whatever. It's the same app.

Wow! I wonder what's going on.

I'll tell ya that I even tried to call the number associated with the domain name. End result? Some automated message about number can't be reached.

I was kinda keen on getting from someone at Qardio, or formerly at Qardio, for a clear message on what's going on. I just wanted answers. I didn't want a solution. I just wanted to know what's going on.

I was able to Airdrop the app from my old phone to my new one. It loaded and I can log in, so the truth will be told if I can pair it and complete a test result.

Airdrop the app? Wow. I didn't know you could do that. Or does Airdrop merely means sending the receiving device an App store link?

Let us know if you are able to pair and complete a test. I assume you're running the blood pressure monitor?

Yes I have the blood pressure monitor. I was able to Airdrop the app itself to my other phone and iPad.

If Airdrop does directly send the app to another device, that's good.

The only thing is if you're buying a new iPhone in person with the trade-in option, I believe you won't be able to do that because Apple will want the device in hand before you get your new device, no? Or, unless the store is fine with your phone not being wiped, you spend the time in-store to set up your NEW phone, then finally use the old device (which at this point no longer belongs to you because of trade-in) to Airdop app to the new phone. Or am I wrong in this interpretation?

You are correct. You are also able to share the app via email or text, so when you the new phone going, you will have the link your inbox. Hope that works for you!

Just right now I did a search for Qardio on the app store and it is indeed now re-appearing!!!

@artfossil , perhaps you want to try again to see if you can download the "normal" way via App store the Qardio app and see if it'll work for you now? And if it works, cancel the Omron Evolv pronto! :)

Did Qardio get a second wind? Or some late windfall? Some late inheritance when someone suddenly died of high blood pressure and had bequeathed the entire estate to Qardio???

Ok thanks.

Just to clarify for those curious: AirDropping an app doesn’t actually send the app directly to the receiver’s phone. I just tried. It just point you to the app’s URL in the App Store. This isn’t too useful of the app no longer exists in the store. But that said, Qardio has returned to the App Store

The domain is gone and the site is just a Namecheap filler page.
Yup. Checked it early this morning and it was gone. Thankfully the Qardio app is back in the App store.

I really wonder what happened. I want to hear from them. They’ve been in business for about 10 years, so I wouldn’t have thought they’d suddenly go belly up so soon after releasing version 2 of their blood pressure monitor.

Is the app similar to the one before? Best make two copies then.

Haven't read the whole thread, so sorry if already mentioned.

When apps are not in the AppStore anymore (older versions or completely), I just go to my purchases and search for that App there and can download it.

It disappeared even from the purchase list for a while — several days.

My Qardio Arm is dead in the water and won't turn on. Probably just coincidence and unrelated to the app disappearance.

I evacuated because of Hurricane Helene (3rd year in a row here in Florida!) but today I finally had a chance to set up the Omron Evolv.

I really like it! It's compact and SO much easier to get on and off than my old Qardio. And I don't think Omron will go out of business. :)

Yes. Historic levels of storm surge and tremendous damage (Florida) but not the utter devastation experienced in North Carolina. But two more months of hurricane season to go.
