The work around of making sure you exit the message thread and go to the messaging app homescreen seems to be working for me. Not ideal, but better than nothing.

That’s odd. Please be sure to submit that information to Apple.I found it related to Bluetooth. If I turn BT off (fully, not just disconnect via CC), then everything works.

Good sign so far...
So far, so good...Man, I might put the beta on just so I don’t miss any more messages. Who would have thought that using a beta would make your phone more stable?
Are you still getting all of your notifications?

I also reported this to MacRumors to see if they would run with it but no reply yet.

I’m still getting this issue on 14.3 beta 1
Same thing happens to me. Major issueJust wanted to chime in to say I am also having this issue. The message will appear as read and I will not receive a notification. Today I went to iMessage a friend. They had messaged me almost 24 hours prior and I had no notification on my phone or Apple Watch. It was there as if it was an old message. I checked with a few friends and they are also having the issue. Very frustrating. I’ve only noticed this starting since updating to 14.2.
