The work around of making sure you exit the message thread and go to the messaging app homescreen seems to be working for me. Not ideal, but better than nothing.
On 14.3 Beta 1, I was specifically existing the Messages app *without* going back to the Messages Home Screen and I received all notifications.

Good sign so far...

I found it related to Bluetooth. If I turn BT off (fully, not just disconnect via CC), then everything works.

It is definately intermittent for me. This moring I exited the conversation before changing from the messages app, notification of text arrived normally, left the conversation open, next notification was fine.

Man, I might put the beta on just so I don’t miss any more messages. Who would have thought that using a beta would make your phone more stable?

Are you still getting all of your notifications?

I think the issue is becoming more widespread too. Now my daughter just had it happen and she previously didn’t have any issues.

I also reported this to MacRumors to see if they would run with it but no reply yet.

I have also been having this issue, so I am glad I found this thread and what you all are trying to fix this
I will make sure I keep going back to the Home Screen and see if that helps me.

Just wanted to chime in to say I am also having this issue. The message will appear as read and I will not receive a notification. Today I went to iMessage a friend. They had messaged me almost 24 hours prior and I had no notification on my phone or Apple Watch. It was there as if it was an old message. I checked with a few friends and they are also having the issue. Very frustrating. I’ve only noticed this starting since updating to 14.2.

Same here, it's been an issue with 14 ever since I updated... Got a 12 pro max here setup as new and still having the issue. Both iMessage and text messages... Solution seems to be going back to the list of conversations, staying in a conversation causes it to not come through... This NEEDS to be fixed.

Same here. This is incredibly bad. I missed a text message scheduling an interview for a job (automated calendar system with link invite). This is unacceptable.

They absolutely need to fix this ASAP. Calls and texts are fundamental features of the phone and I’m missing replies from hours before.
