You could get shutdowns under heavy loads. E.g. using FurMurk causes a shutdown. Best to feed both 8-pin power ports with separate power sources. I use the Pixlas mod, which entails quite a bit of modding. There’s a thread here with detailed instructions.

How do I connect it right without pickas mod, what cables do i need etc .. because I need to order the card tomorrow, can get it for 350$ Have the RX 580 right now

you will need to get power with the pickas mod or it will cause shutdowns. I don't like the snap connectors myself I solder mine. but each to there own.

Alternative to the Pixlas mod...connect the second 8-pin port on the GPU to the SATA power connections on the motherboard. Use a dual-SATA to PCIe 8-pin power cable, like these from Amazon.

Be aware though, you would need to clip off one side of the SATA connector to fit the Mac Pro's SATA ports. This method leaves the connection to the motherboard very loose, so it should be only an interim solution. The best permanent solution is the Pixlas mod.
