Yes I did. I cancelled my 12pro order online, and placed an order for the 12 pro max. It's coming to me middle of December. Just in time for Christmas!

It was really hard to choose between the gold and the pacific blue. Despite them being so different, I went with the gold (which has a more relaxed feel/ white is more stark). I think I will use a light case.
Welcome to the 12 PM club. It's an amazing device!! :)

Just an update. I’ve had my 12 pro max for a few days now. I’m absolutely in love with it! I guess holding out for many years until an upgrade really allowed me to witness how technology has progressed all these years. EVERYTHING IS BETTER. EVERYTHING.

And I love the big screen. I can see everything now, when previously much content was cut off. It’s like a mini iPad!

The gold color is even prettier when I’m holding it in my hands. The gold stainless steel borders look like 14k gold. Meanwhile the gold backing is a muted champagne color (light beige mixed with grey) and it shimmers, in a very demure, elegant way. The design and color are just impeccable. This has to be the most gorgeous phone I’ve ever owned. I’m literally over the moon happy.

Here's my dilemma. I'm a small sized person. Have been using the SE1 for the past 4 years, so it's really time to upgrade.

I ordered the 12 pro in gold and it has been over 10 days and still not delivered. In the meantime, pro-max made its debut. I cannot help but wonder what it would be like to own a big screen phone since I would enjoy more screen real estate and it's only $100 more.

But the 12 pro max is twice the weight of the SE1. I'm afraid I won't get used to the weight/ size, and it won't fit into many of my handbags or trousers. Help?

What do you all think of small sized women carrying a gigantic phone? Be honest here. PS: I'm really not a techie, nor a heavy user.
I'm curious to know why you didn't order the mini that is way more similar to the se1 but with bigger screen. I think pro max size is way too much for a person that is not used to big screens

So it sounds as though the size/weight concerns you had initially have gone by the wayside. The important question, does it fit into your handbags and trousers?

Congrats, glad to hear you're enjoying your new phone. You picked a great one! Enjoying the Plum case? What are you enjoying most about the new phone, out of curiosity?

I had the SE1 for 4 years, thought it was time to change. I thought the big screen will be overwhelming. It is, but in a good way. Yes, the weight came as a surprise too, but that's something I can compromise on.

So many things.

The camera mostly. The pictures are SO clear and beautiful. I didn't know you could do that with an iPhone now.
The sound quality is amazing!
The bigger screen allows me to look at photos and stock price charts with ease. I can zoom in and out easily. Anything with heavy numbers, I can do now.

When I load any internet page, I get to see more than previously on my SE1, the bottom portion was chopped off.
Too many apps don't property support the SE1, so I didn't get to fully utilize them.
I can finally read a news article properly, rather than skim.
The battery just goes on and on, I can charge my phone one every 2 days now.

The list goes on and on. All the things that I do on my laptop, I can do now on my iPhone. I'm surprised someone didn't hit me on the head and told me to switch earlier (well they did, and I didn't listen). But it's better late than never.

I find that with the SE1, I was using it to minimize on screen exposure, but now with the Pro Max, it's inviting me to be more engaged.

That is absolutely fantastic, glad to read that you are finding so many aspects to enjoy with your new device! I was hoping this would be the case from your initial comments. Have you taken any photos with the camera at night yet? That will blow your mind! Agree, the speakers, screen, battery are outstanding. Internet speed on Wifi is also greatly improved for us--I came from an 8+ so not much of a size difference for me. There is just so much to love about the 12's in general but obviously I'm very biased.

Thanks for the update. I had my SE1 for 3 years and was reluctant to move to a bigger size phone because I really liked the small footprint. In fact, for the past 2 years I have been a big proponent of the SE2. Alas, my eye site over the last year have gradually detiriated to the point that reading messages give me a headache. Additionally my text messages were becoming atrocious (typo galore) due to the small fonts and the fact that proof reading was a strain.

I got the pacific blue 12 pro max and was on the fence for about 2.5 days. By day 3 I began to like its usability (bigger screen, fonts, etc) by day 5 I feel in love with its design and substantialness. It had a small Nic on the screen out the box so I returned it. It was so painful to ship it back to the point that I was asking myself "is the scratch that bad?".

My replacement is on the way and I am excited.

Aren't we glad we were brave enough to dance converting?

Enjoy.

I see that you've already made your decision. I don't know if this has already been suggested to you, but keep in mind that the weight (however slight) will be increased if you decide to put a case on it. I was reminded of the increase in weight earlier tonight. I'm going to give my XS Max to my dad, so I was preparing different cases for him to choose from. I put the RhinoShield SolidSuit on the phone and had to immediately cross if off the list because it added so much weight to the phone and it would cause him some discomfort.

I'd probably do Casetify for cases. The bare minimum clear case they have. Anything else with too much protection will weigh the phone down even more.

I'm glad I bit the bullet and just went for it. After this, I don't think I can return to a smaller screen anymore. :D :D :D

I too wanted a device easier on my eyes and hands. I had to squint too many times, and my hands keep giving me typos- they are embarrassing. Moreover, many company APPs don't properly support the SE1 anymore, so APPs weren't loading.

I've yet to try night time photography. I've done portraits of all my family members including the furry ones. They are very flattering photos.

Yes, the weight is an issue, but I think for a woman it's a bit easier because we carry purses.

Here's my take on it... I had the Pro and while I loved the size and feel, I wasn't sure about the PM this year with the hard edges. My wife's PM cam in on launch day and after handling it and setting it up, I was was like its really not that much more noticeable in size and weight. Like most others, I always had the Plus size iPhones, and this year I talked myself into the regular Pro. While battery life was ok for me, I was noticing I was topping off before heading to the gym in the late afternoons. My phone has 2 active lines on it at all times, so there's a bit more of a hit to battery performance. Last Friday was my 14th day to return my Verizon purchased 12 Pro, and luckily they had a Pacific Blue 256GB PM in stock, so I snatched it up. Been using it solidly for the past 2 days and love it. Feels much better to hold than my 11 PM, and I actually prefer handling the 12 PM vs the 12 Pro. It feels better in my hand than the 12 Pro and weight is not an issue. As far as carrying it, really doesn't bother me at all. Battery life is definitely better (but not as good as the 11PM), and the Apple leather baltic blue feels just as good as when it was on my 12 Pro.

Let me share my recent experience. I wanted to keep my 12 PM as lightweight as possible, so I looked for some ultrathin cases and ended up ordering a Totallee clear case, which turned out to be a great case as usual.

However, my search didn’t end there, and I wanted to go even lighter, so I decided to give the Pitaka Air case a try, and I think I found what I was looking for. I am using the Pitaka Air case with my 12 PM for over two weeks now, and I am in love with this combo.

Btw, I have a gold 12 PM, and it looks super dope in the semi-exposed Pitaka Air case...only 10 grams in additional weight and its feel is super nice.

I really like the Pro Max without case and haven't used one in years. Fortunately only one accident two years ago and it was covered by Apple Care+.

For those who consider 12 PM...

12 PM advantages (vs 12 P):

- much bigger battery and thus battery life
- much bigger main wide angle camera sensor (47%)
- IBIS stabilization...5000 / seconds
- 2.5x telephoto lens...better for portraits
- 2.5x telephoto lens with 5000 / seconds lens stabilization (2x telephoto of Pro only does 1000/sec)
- better stereo sound from speakers
- better gaming due to lack of throttling

12 PM disadvantages:

- ginormous size
- heavier by 25g = 088 ounce = 0.055 lbs
- cost $100 more

Interesting... I have the gold PM as well and been wondering about a lighter case as well.. Love the saddle brown Apple leather case but wouldn’t mind something lighter as well.

I have tried the 12 PM leather case at an Apple store, and it feels nice, but I skipped it this time.

Give Pitaka Air case a try, and you will not be disappointed but do keep in mind that this case can only handle minor drops and scratch protection.

I’m so glad you’re enjoying your new iPhone. I have a gold Pro Max currently stuck in customs in China for the last 3 days but I’m sure it will make its way over here eventually.

I originally had the Pacific Blue 12 Pro. I found the weight distribution shockingly hard on my hands. I had nerve and joint pain. So I tried the lighter 12. It felt nice. It had some sort of overheating issue though so I returned it.

Meanwhile I tried my husband’s 12 Pro Max and liked it for all the reasons you like it. Surprisingly, the weight isn’t killing my hands because the overall size and weight distribution lets me hold it comfortably in two hands. It’s hard to describe how and why it makes a difference but so far it seems to. I decided it would make a great sort of little iPad replacement for my second phone line. Usually I run an Android phone on that line but I am sort of distanced from Android right now. Ive had a hard time with the hardware and just can’t really get as much done on my Android phones lately.

So I a ordered silver 12 Pro Max for myself. But that one stayed in processing for 10 days. Meanwhile I reconsidered and changed my order to gold I am really excited to hear your description of the color. That’s everything I’d hoped it would be.

I don’t really use my computers anymore. I just don’t have a space to myself for that anymore with everyone working and going to school at home and the kids always wanting to play games or work on projects on the computers.

I will probably be using my Max in much the same way you use yours.

When I returned the 12, I replaced it with a 12 mini because at that point, since I run two lines, I’d use the mini for taking calls and quick texts. It’s the phone that is always on me, since it’s small. The Max is more my small computer.

As I said, I am glad you’re enjoying your new phone. It sounds like you’re emerging from a bit of a difficult time so I wish you a very happy holiday season and a wonderful new year with your new phone!
