Has anyone here experienced an update going backwards, from Not yet shipped to Prepared for Shipment then back to Not yet shipped? I'm perplexed and worried!
No, I did the free normal shipping. I guess I was lucky, or maybe the China Foxconn plant pushed out a few extra ipads the day I ordered. I hope yours comes before the arrival date. The day I ordered the iPad was only a day after apple changed the ship time to 1 to 2 weeks instead of more time. Maybe they had a boatload of orders after the change in ship time. I know it affected my decision to order instead of stalking our apple store.
I really shouldn't complain, but I have an interesting story about my iPad 2 delivery, or lack there of.
To start, I won a 32 GB Black WiFi iPad 2 from the company I work for. Team building event = free iPad 2. Pretty awesome. Of course, it's impossible to purchase an iPad 2 from any retail store, so it was ordered online with a company card. Since then, I've educated myself on the delivery process and understood that if lucky, I would be showing off my new toy in the office by the end of this week. Wishful thinking is an understatement. Not having an order number to base anything off of, reading this message board was my best chance of estimating when my iPad 2 would be delivered. I've become obsessed like many others have, but there is a strange twist in my story. As many have heard, the Sony Playstation Network has been hacked. My company has had business with Sony in the past and therefore cancelled the credit card used to order my iPad 2. As far as I know, which is very little, my order has gone to **** and who knows if I will ever see my iPad 2. Ironically, I am the PCI Compliance Analyst for my company and if Sony had only followed PCI DSS guidelines, I would have had my free iPad by the end
of the week.
All I can say is, if you have an account with the Playstation network please change the number on your credit card or cancel the card. This information has been compromised and there are laws protecting Sony from making this information officially public. Enjoy your iPad 2 if you have one.

Same to you! I love this part of the process. There's so much camaraderie and new friendships. Definitely one of the things I enjoy being an Apple fan.

Scratch this, I got a nice surprise email this morning with a tracking # saying it was shipped:

My original delivery date was the 2nd.
My new delivery date is the 5th.
Based on tracking info from my cover I should have my ipad in hand within 15 hours. This puts it at a day earlier than the NEW delivery date... but two days later than the original.

Looks like our iPads are on the same shipment. I was supposed to be getting mine today as well. I called UPS to complain. They said there was a delay in China but didn't give me a specific delay. Said they were sorry for my trouble. I am annoyed a little by this whole thing. It's a good thing I do not know Mr. Jobs personally
