I discovered that backgrounds look even better when you apply a canvas texture on them using photoshop. The canvas texture of the background contrasts really well with the sharp and vibrant icons on the retina display.

Update: I fixed the problem that caused the images to be displayed at 1600x1600. They should now display correctly at 2048x2048

Did you ever get a good Charger wallpaper? I'm looking for one too (season ticket holder). From his name, BoltJames should be a Charger fan, but that picture doesn't fit that of a fan.

The fading on the light effect seemed to strong on the one posted by andrewfee, so i gave it a go myself, so now theres a choice of how much of a fade effect you want.

They are both good, but I do like this 2nd one just a bit better. Thanks. I am sure the OP of the request appreciated it.

I really like the first wallpaper you posted. However when I click it to view full size, the image info it says the resolution is 0x0 pixels scaled to 1597x1597 pixels. Any chance on checking that out for me to make sure it's the correct size? Thanks in advance.

I agree that the corners are too dark in my image when you look at it as a whole. Because the iPad crops off either the sides or the top & bottom of the image depending on orientation, you don't see the corners though. My intention was to try and match the original image once it was cropped. (I had actually had made one that was closely matched to yours until I tried it on the iPad)

You are completely right, somewhere in the creation/upload process something got scaled down. I'll work on getting those re-uploaded at full resolution. Thanks for the heads up.

Some other sites said they have iPad 3 wallpapers, but I found they only enlarged the 1024 x 1024 to retina after I download some images.

I made a few wallpapers myself from my own photographs. 2048x1536, no annoying watermarks etc. They are very simple and clean nature shots which I think work well as they aren't distracting. Feel free to use them.
